Skin request. BF-109G-6 Gunther Sahl, III/8 JG 54

Hi all,

Hope someone will consider making this skin. It is a BF-109G6 Flown by Gunther Sahl of III/8 JG54.,  Wr.Nr 26048. It was based at Luneburg in 1944.

I do not have access to a good illustration of the staffel marking on the left side of the nose. It appears to be a cartoonish chicken in white or yellow on a red background on a shield   Perhaps someone with better references will have a better detailed image. Any consideration and help with this aircraft will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I was able to get Claes Sundin's opinion on this aircraft since he did this aircraft some time ago.

See attached renderings of the aircraft W. Nr. 26048 , Black "8" and his ideas on the Staffel emblem.  His opinion is that if he did this aircraft again he would have the red bird edged in white on a black background for the shield. I know Eagle Cals has the red bird edged in yellow on a red shield. All are worth considering!

Well, there! And I searched badly and didn't find it. Where have you been before? It will have to be redone.

I have seen some historical photos where the bird is drawn without a shield.

The bird on the shield you are referring to and a .psd that comes closest to the one on the shield.

Hi Julian,

Claes Sundin is in the process of doing a new profile of Sahl's aircraft and was so kind to send a photo that is very revealing as to what the 8th Staffel emblem looked like in appearance. Looking forward to seeing his  new profile. 

I Hope someone can do this machine in the near future.
