GlobFly Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 This is a pretty short but to-the-point question: is there really no way to play co-op missions without spending a lot of time hunting down user-created co-op missions or hours learning the mission creator tool to make our own to play? Especially when it comes to finding ones for the modules/aircraft you actually own? Really seems like a huuuuge missed opportunity and weak link in the chain for IL-2's multiplayer appeal if that's how it really works.
Charon Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 (edited) Use Vander's Easy Mission Generator or Pat Wilson's campaign generator. Edit: I agree it would be a huge boon if AQMB and campaign missions could be generated as co-op. However, I've tried to convert them manually and gotten crashes, and I don't have the knowledge to troubleshoot this. Edited November 26, 2022 by Charon

My friends and I play a lot on the WingWalkers server; it is a server that is in the list of PvP servers ("Dogfight"), but all the missions are exclusively PvE. Maybe this server's approach can help you fill in your need to fly coop with a minimum of hassle. There are many different missions on rotation, I haven't counted them but I'd wager some 20-30. The missions have dynamic difficulty, which means that the resistance you encounter scales with the number of players that are on the server. This means that you can join the server when you're just 2 and be fine, but also play the same mission with 20 pilots and encounter much more resistance. Also, they are continiously adding new missions, many of them are inspired by specific historic events or situations. Generally, the missions are really well fleshed out, there are some very interesting and unusual missions in the rotation. It's just really frustrating that such capability isn't built-in to the game. 9 hours ago, JG1_Greif said: My friends and I play a lot on the WingWalkers server; it is a server that is in the list of PvP servers ("Dogfight"), but all the missions are exclusively PvE. I'm sure their server is excellent, but I'm really just wanting to do private stuff with friends that we can have full control over.
WWCephas Posted February 21, 2023 Posted February 21, 2023 @GlobFly Any mission on the WW Public Server will download to your machine if you join online and then you can host for yourself privately and still retain all the variable difficulty features of the mission.
