I've had one for about a year and a half now and am overall happy with it. For me, the key thing is it is a high resolution headset that supports a 71mm IPD, because I've got a big head, but not everyone needs that. It also fits my glasses very easily, so I did not end up having a real need to get prescription inserts.

You will need some serious GPU horsepower to run it though, because it is a 2840*2840 headset, and it does take a little time to get use to positioning it right. The first few times I used it, I was seeing significant rings, but they pretty much went away as I got used to it.

Because it is part of the Steam VR ecosystem, you can use the Valve knuckles with it, instead of the HTC wands. I'm sort of so-so on the knuckles, but a lot of people love them. But they are light years better than the old WMR wands.

They also have an integrated USB-C port on the headset so if you want to use headset mounted peripherals like the PointCTRL finger trackers in DCS, you can do it without having to run a separate cable to your computer.

Finally, the most recent software versions support various locked and unlocked frame modes, so you can run it all out, or select from a pretty decent range of refresh rates to cap it to. These days I'm usually using the 120hz+1/2 cap to play at mostly 60fps for Il-2, 90+1/2 for 45fps in DCS, and 90+1/3 for 30fps in MSFS (need way more GPU for that game...)

All that said, I'm given to understand that the Varja Aero has a much clearer image and can also handle large eye spacing, and the Index and Reverb G2 are both better value, though the Index I'm told is not glasses friendly, and the Reverb G2 does not support 71mm IPD, so there are trades to all of them.

Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the HTC Vive Pro 2.

I used a Vive Pro 2 for several months, in fact still have the headset boxed away. Agree with @Voyager comments on the headset. I had a slight problem with mine stuttering at times after I moved to Windows 11. Have not used it since Jan so probably that has got all sorted out. Used it mostly previously with Windows 10 with no issues.
