SCG_Neun Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 (edited) I believe if we had some work around features within the mission editor we could enhance the poor ground combat quality of the current maps. I think we should be allowed to discuss this here on the main general forum and then we can select some features to put within the official suggestion section. It's important though to bring out this conversation here, because I think the TC community needs to chime in within a general forum instead of hiding this off in some semi hidden suggestion location. To start off with I suggest the following: We have tank emplacements which might as well have a bullseye on them since they are so light colored and can be easily spotted against any terrain features in any of the maps. Why not have some selections which will blend into the terrain better on all the maps... and give some hull down fortified positions more hidden value? The same for artillery positions and machine gun positions. To think that these positions did not use the terrain features as to color and camo is just silly. How about some wood piles to hide behind, something that will stay rendered at some realistic distances? I know the map does not allow any entrenching capabilites, but why not have some modules that simulate entrenched units, say with just the head and upper shoulders exposed, maybe with a hand held tank killer like a piat, or panzerfaust/bazooka? What about some netting to hide AT positions and even tanks, I know this will work because I use the larger netting and these guns can fire behind this netting and receive damage as well, but make some smaller and less conspicuous. And work on the pill box options so an AT weapon will actually fire when placed inside these fortified areas. Currently the pill boxes are worthless except for visual immersion. You end up placing your AT outside of the shelter because this is the only way it can actually fire on the enemy. Also, and this is important from a historical simulation perspective, there must be a server admin setting which will require grass detail set to the "ON" position so everyone within a historical scenario can play on equal terrain footing. I think with a little imagination and some work from the Devs to help bring out the ground combat within the ME Tank Crew can become better and better. Edited November 4, 2022 by SCG_Neun 1 9

super-truite Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 All the above, plus it would be nice to add some vegetation like hedgerows or trees as well. Since we play on limited areas, with tanks, we have the luxury to manually position this kind of objects. I would also love some more buildings (destroyable or not), with enough room for the tanks to hide from planes (like barns) 3
