Now what?

We already know where Jason is, now the feeling of those who consume this type of compulsive product between il2 in Vein, how has our body been?

What changes and effects does this have?

We trust the il2GB saga

Do we have to be optimistic or is the outlook really wrong?

When we will see or feel that this really continues and is not a smokescreen

What do you think of the rest?

I think its a pointless thread that'll likely get locked within hours asking questions that will only illicit wild and unhelpful speculation.

I really don't get it - some of us give the impression that nothing is ever right with this sim, nothing is ever completed satisfactorily, and the decisions they make are never the right ones. It's a constant whinge fest.

But apparently...the only thing worse than having this imperfect, annoying sim....is the possibility of not having it!

Get a grip folks, and calm down.

They've already said the next instalment is decided. Patience....

I just hope that they learn from past mistakes, remember how the original game was when launched.

To me this franchise is very solid and keeps on growing and improving ever still. Individual people come and goes along the way. There is very talented team behind the development even to the future.

What ever comes next if it's good and add to variety of gameplay i'll buy it (torpedo bombers, PTO, naval ops, carriers, medium or heavy bombers).

I just hope they won't go with another inland small tactical engagements with fighters and fighter-bombers....been fed up with those!

Also i hope they'll stick with ww2 timeframe

It's a business enterprise.  Hopefully a successful one that will continue to create WW1 and WW2 content.

What now?  That's a very good question.  Obviously Jason's leaving is news to almost everyone.  Jason said his goodbye but one thing is missing so far.  Whoever is in charge now should be stepping forward and saying something.  If nothing else then to wish Jason good luck.  That fact this is missing is not a good omen.

Now what?  I say enjoy what is already there, which is impressive.  Assuming incremental changes don’t screw up the existing content, it ought to last for years to come.  I don’t have any expectations for any future content, and I assume any next full module will be several years in the future anyway, if it actually happens.

It'd be nice to hear that the devs plan to push ahead. I'll keep buying! I don't really care where they take us next.

Holy crap yeah I look forward to seeing what is next as well as the next guy, but man we got a whole new Map and planes to check out in the meantime. It is Normandy in case you missed the release news...

;)

Now what? Now get out there and fly Normandy!

My understanding of the situation is that a video with more information will be coming in the near future. Just as I did not have the actual drop date of Jason's farewell video, I do not have the exact date of the go-forward announcement yet.

This... you would think that would have been organised. The fact no one from the team hasn't come forward or have been stopped from doing so is bad form.

I don't care about company internal politics, that's for them to sort out, but hearing nothing from them about Jason's contribution to not only their company, but let's face it, the combat flight simming world is at the least bad manners.

The only reason I can come up with that has a positive spin to it is that they didn't know he was going post that goodbye video and it caught them on the hop.

I don't understand: is it your intuition or a certainty? Did you get any info from the devs?

Nothing is certain in life other than taxes and death. ?

But yes, my information comes from my boss. I am not a part of that production, so I do not have any hard data that can be shared at this time.

This is exactly what they (the devs) said three weeks ago in this interview... and Jason had already left the ship... and they knew it... ;)

I await the inevitable reveal of the next Eastern Front DLC.

We can hope that a bare minimum of the veteran staff stays on to guide the new blood. Jason already made references to losing people on the team well before his own departure, due to 'world events'. We can assume there's greater employment instability than there would be 2+ years ago. That's never good for a project.

I remain tepidly optimistic. The proof will ultimately be in the pudding.

I never agreed on the way this evolved. But that was based on my preferences

blessedly free of consumer based facts

GB did in a way save ww2 combat flight sim

For all we know something new would be a good thing.

Well, we can dream. Battle of France(1940) is unlikely to qualify as new because we have so many French maps already, but maybe Spanish Civil War...

Or Football War, the last piston-vs-piston fighter engagement, and sneaky way to get F4U into the sim ;).

My prediction:  We are going to be seeing a lot of Yak3s and La7s.

I think this qualifies for a 'Keep calm and carry on' poster :)

The simultaneous leaving of Petrovitch and Jason will probably cause a bit of anxiety in the ranks. I also expect a bit of griping on the English forums about the next module being 1944-1945 Eastern Europe (my best guess)... however, my expectation is that people will be quite pleased with the new products once they are far enough along (assuming there are no sudden changes to things like the damage models).

Here is a line: If you don't want or like an La-7 or Yak-3 then buy the new module so you can get your revenge and shoot them down!! ?;)

…in your G6 that you’ve been flying every night for the past 5 years?

sorry, that was cynical, but kind of true too.

I highly doubt next dlc is east front. han said in that video with enigma, that next dlc will have something new for their team, what is new in la-7 yak-3 yak-9u tu-2 il-10 vs 109g10 190a9 ta-152h ju-87d5 and what ever 5th axis thing is ?

i would be more suprised by that as next dlc then spain civil war dlc

I would imagine, with all of the sanctions et al that revenue streams are being strangled somewhat... especially when trying to pay employees in a non ruble currency.

I know the company is registered in Cyprus, but financial tentacles run deep and it would be naive to assume that international financial sanctions have had no effect on equity

@CountZeroWell for that reason, and other reasons I stated is why I put forth the notion of Korea.

They can get away with another WWII release of 109's, 190's and Yaks and shove that down our throats...but that will be the last release.

Frankly I think (hope) that 1C (and I mean the execs) are smarter than this.

We’re just bullshittin’ here Gambit, so don’t get all bent out of shape, but they’re going to get into the jet arena with DCS?  I mean, maybe so, but that’s why I don’t think that’s going to happen.

Well they already have 2 jets? So I don't see a problem with early jets, and see no problem with regard to DCS. The advantages/disadvantages with each sim are already known and established. Both sims are in WWII already...why not Korea. Again though, it's just BS'n like you said.

Posted (edited)

Korea is just totaly new war.

Its like after BoBp DLC we were given FC2 DLC isted Normandy.

I dont think they are leaving WW2 theme for main game.
