CrazyhorseB34 Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 The best Soviet fighter was. P-39. Built in Buffalo, New York. How embarrassing, would it be? If Il-2 Sturmovik, don't complete the series? Next logical Great Battle. Bagration/Berlin. Thoughts? 3 1
I./JG52_Woutwocampe Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Yeah, so we could have the 2 best russian fighters, the Yak 3 and the La7, finally. 2
CrazyhorseB34 Posted October 22, 2022 Author Posted October 22, 2022 Yep! plus Il-2AM... Plus... Maybe? 109G-10 and Ta-152? It would be silly to have a game called Il-2. If most aircraft 109, 190, Spitfires. The new Spitfire... DLC. makes zero reason. Four months in service. Waste of time. I can't wait... for the IAR! Romanian Rocket! 1

Okeeee, I suggest to read the following threads to get a better view of the groundhog: it's very long to read but very informative and contains comments from people actually restoring and flying it.https://ww2aircraft.net/forum/threads/xp-39-ii-the-groundhog-day-thread.54531/https://ww2aircraft.net/forum/threads/groundhog-thread-part-deux-p-39-fantasy-and-fetish-the-never-ending-story-mods-take-no-responsibility-for-head-against-wall-injuries-sustained.47960/
CrazyhorseB34 Posted October 22, 2022 Author Posted October 22, 2022 Seems as if reality actual reality... Top Soviet Ace... Flew a P-39. Just saying. We agree. The Soviets. Did not do high altitude. Bomber missions either. We did all that work. Shuttle missions from England and Italy. Land at Poltova. Rearm. Refuel. Fly back. We bombed the Germans. Truth. We where Soviet Strategic Bomber force! They didn't have our capabilties or technology. 1 1 2
Jade_Monkey Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 No more P-39 till they figure out that engine. Once the Allison's limits are sorted I'll happily buy it. The 3D modeling is well done and the interior layout is quite unique. 1 1
CrazyhorseB34 Posted October 22, 2022 Author Posted October 22, 2022 I agree! Great Battles: Bagration. Would be cool. Normandy so far... a bust. 2 1 1

The Wehrmacht was clubbed to death on the eastern front. Soviet soldiers shouldered the heaviest load and paid the highest price. The strategic bomber offensive did not have nearly the effect it‘s planners aspired to. It actually started only to become real effektive when they started targeting the German railway system in 1944 just prior to the invasion. Reading history is good advice - try non American sources for a change 12
Jaws2002 Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Leave it to Jonny Come In Late to claim he did it all alone. How typical. 1
Guest deleted@83466 Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 I am really confused in this thread.
Carl_infar Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Please,no more east front or more 109 , 190 varaints, we have it just enough of those. Lets have somethimg new like Pacific Burma or Guadalcanal (land based, if carriers to tough to be modeld)
CountZero Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Ah yes they were used in Italy in late 45, sure we need one 1

I'd say Warsaw, August through January would work better, and give the Germans a better field of play.

I am in many historical groups, and I carry with me a huge load of utter respect for all Veterans, and gratitude to them. I am pretty sure one do not serve them justice by saying we or us. I do however acknowledge the fact that a huge portion of US citizens has a relative close to them that deserve that respect. I just wanted to state that point, meaning no disrespect to anyone here

Ferried from the factory to Great Falls, Montana where I live. Russian soldiers were stationed in Great Falls as liaison officers for the Lend-Lease program. A USAAF base was built in Great Falls for the program. Many of the Cobras were flown in by WASP pilots like Hazel Ying Lee, who died here after her P-63 crashed in November 1944. Cobras and other Lend-Lease aircraft were flown over Canada to Fairbanks, Alaska by the 7th Ferrying Group where they were received by Soviet pilots. The route continued on to Siberia and to the front lines. I'd love to have another P-39 Airacobra variant, or maybe the P-63 King Cobra. Their history interests me. I've flown the North America portion of the route in the Microsoft FSX several times using a P-40 and an AT-6.
