BBAS_Broski42 Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Is it known if the runway start AI taxi order will be fixed with this update?
Hamaha15 Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Quote A myriad of Normandy map enhancements: rivers, buildings, ports, churches, roads and railroads, airfields, harbors, cliffs etc. Sounds promising. Looking forward to use them for further map detailing. London's calling... 1

Hamaha15 Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 (edited) What about clouds below 500m? Is this limitation related to the new clouds functionality or is it possible to get back to the old cloud height condition? Edited October 1, 2022 by Hamaha15
jollyjack Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 If the clouds are extended to 2m above ground we'll have a genuine English Fog; and won't be missing London that much ... 2 1

Hamaha15 Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Yes, just started, still a mess... Took me one week to develop a plan of how to proceed. I wait for the map updates now to avoid going into the wrong direction... 5 1

jollyjack Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 (edited) Obviously the British region on the Normandy is WAY too small ... Actually we need a BoB, Battle of Brittain, extended map: Here's a group for a start, but how can you put flak an working radar on top of these towers: Red Sands Fort BoN.zip Edited October 3, 2022 by jollyjack
slikslik Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Does this update give us the full BO Normandy game? I see it's for sale on Steam and it looks like a whole new IL 2 game. Is it worth buying on Steam?

I watched this one a while back. Also didn‘t know about these structures and learned about them through the video. @slikslik I‘d say the module (Battle of Normandy is worth it. The module is fully out now, so not early access anymore as the map got released. It has some nice planes on the allied side and a three very interesting ones on the axis side (plus the usual 109 and 190 variants…). And the map for offline play which opens up a lot of scenarios if you have other modules (earlier Spitfires and Fw 190/Bf 109. Online the map plays a smaller role obviously, since you can play on the map even if you don‘t own it. Wether you buy it on steam or here is personal choice. I bought BoS there as the base module plus my first modules and the rest I purchased here (badges on the left…) and linked the accounts. Works flawlessly on Steam. Knowing better now I‘d have bought BoS there for convenience and the rest here. Plus side here is mode money for the devs. 1 1

If so, then buying it on Steam doesn't give you anything new. The Steam edition is identical to the one you can buy from the official store. What do you mean with "full BoN game"? The map, planes and career have all been released. If you're referring to the few assets that are still missing (there's two ships that I know of), then yes, the update will include it as said in the announcement.
bsones Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 5.002 sounds pretty great! I'm curious--is there more info about this new propeller tech somewhere, or has that not been revealed yet?

OG__Iceman_VR Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 ☀️?? I hope someone fixes the Sun glow to a spectrum that works in VR so you don't get eyestrain from the wavelengths of the color. " LED " brightness levels make the game unplayable due to this causing physical pain you get when you keep getting high beam lights in your eyes from less than 1 inch from the eyeball. It's an very simple fix if you test different color combinations in the Sun dds and glow dds. I would submit suggestions, but I don't have enough knowledge on the best way to edit the dds to fix the problem. I'm sure there is a few community members who have HP reverbs G2 or better and have the art skills needed to fix this situation. 2

Yup I'm happy to notice, that my Fw190 wingmen in a JG 26 careere are now able to shoot enemies down in a reliable manner and don't dive into the deck anymore? 1
slikslik Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 I was curious as to whether there might be more or different missions, career choices etc. They want $65.00 on steam for the hame, so given the price, I thought there would be more of a lot of things. I'm glad I'm wrong. I saved myself some money by asking that question. Thanks my friend...take care.. 1 1
Eisenfaustus Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 In Normandy career dilation seems worse then in any other career. I played on hard and low density and when I attacked a beachhead as Lw Fighter the extreme amount of AAA reduced speed to around 20%... A pitty - I love the map!

I look forward to your products Hi, no plan to extend the flyable area from my side. It will be rather a backdrop improvement in 2D. Flying too close to it may wreck the illusion. London is so huge, a detailed reproduction would certainly swamp any PC. And take ages to complete... The southern perimeter inside the battle zone will require a minimum of detailing, however. Let's see what will be possible. Cheers Edited October 5, 2022 by Hamaha15 2 1

I had a similar experience when attacking a V-1 site... sufficient stutter to make target acquisition almost impossible. It does feel like some optimisation is in order. That said, my ram situation may not have been great at the time (I might even have had a browser up)... so it could be me Probably is now, come to think of it...

The AI takes a toll in many areas even on lower densities. It’s the in game equivalent of one of Jackfrasers lists. There’s a lot going on. More than can be reasonably handled. More than us probably needed. 4
76SQN-Minimayhemtemp Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 When we see 'ALL aircraft' specified, are we supposed to assume this extends to WW1 aircraft too, or just WW2? Sorry to sound like a broken record but I just want my expectations to be set, as the general theme here is that 'all aircraft' means 'WW2 only'.
kendo Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 (edited) "for all aircraft in the Great Battles series" means WW1 as well as WW2. So everything (WW1 and WW2) gets the new DVD / tactical markings/ and props Edited October 12, 2022 by kendo 1
1CGS Regingrave- Posted October 12, 2022 1CGS Posted October 12, 2022 New props, navlights, tactical codes and DVD decals were indeed added for the FC planes as well as for all others. 3
Blitzen Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 I really do like the new prop effect & nav lights which are the most visible new effects of this patch.I assume it will take some time for the new ships to appear in new 3rd party missions and campaigns, much like the other ships in BoN.
kestrel79 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 And before and after screens on the map terrain updates?
slikslik Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Since loading the updates, I can no longer open my Career. I can't start a new career either. I click on Career, and it keeps spinning the little circle. I let it try to load for about 10 minutes, and no way will it open. I really need help with this. I fly single player, and without career mode, I'm super limited to what I can do in this sim. Please help ..Thanks all take care..
