Thorne Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 Hi all, I took a bit a of a break, upgraded my computer, and have started playing IL2 again. Whereas before the 'Motion Smoothing' drop down in the per app graphics settings in SteamVR would respect my chosen setting and enable/disable/force reprojection (I'm using this synonymously with 'motion smoothing'). Now reprojection seems to be turned off and remains off whichever setting I choose. Is there a text file somewhere I have to edit to change the reprojection settings now?
firdimigdi Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 If you are using a WMR headset make sure that you haven't disabled motion smoothing in the WMR for SteamVR app: Usually accessible either in VR or via <path-to-steam-installation-folder>\common\MixedRealityVRDriver\bin\win64\OpenVRSettingsUX.exe 1 2
Thorne Posted September 26, 2022 Author Posted September 26, 2022 Excellent suggestion @Firdimigdi, I'll give that a shot this evening and report back.
Thorne Posted September 29, 2022 Author Posted September 29, 2022 Your suggestion worked, thank you for that. I also needed to edit a config file in the SteamVR for WMR directory. The fact that these tasks are required to get the SteamVR display settings GUI to be respected is seriously fucking stupid.
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 There is a great thread on this board about replacing SteamVR by OpenXR for IL-2. I recommend that, you'll have all the settings (including MP) in a single place. 1
