Tank ace in one mission, Panzer III M

In early June I managed to do from what I know the first tank ace in one mission with the Panzer III M in the il-2 community, managed to do an attack on the enemy front and take out 6 enemy tanks and get home alive to the base, must say doing it with Panzer III was the hardest one I have done since it is only effective against enemy tanks from close range and dont have the armour to take well aimed hits so needs to be played carefully and sneakily and very aggressive when needed.

But I did it! ?

We´ll see which tank I do the next tank ace video with ?

Special thanks to Baryonyx for making the video editing and work on it and SCG tank group.

Rules for how to do a tank ace in one mission is written in the video, based on the rules for pilots use for their ace in one sortie videos.

my older Panzer IV ace video:

Congratulations. Well done. :salute:

It is always gratifying to succeed in battle against what is considered better equipment.

@SCG_judgedeath3 Nice video. I am interested to know how you have mapped your zoom settings. It seems very "jerky". I have mine on a hat switch and the zoom in and out is smooth.

Also do you jump from Commander to gun leaving him standing up when engaging? I can see it is quicker when wanting to take another look but do you find your Commander gets killed / injured very often doing this? I have always closed the Commanders hatch when going to gun sight but it does take time.

I use the scrolling wheel on the mouse, the jerkiness is more from nividias recording system.

I prefer to leave my commander out as long as possible, both due to its faster to go from him directly to the gunner, and if I cant find the target, I can easily go back to commander and guide the gun correctly, like with my first kill in the video. It also help a lot when I multicrew with others so I can guide the gun to the target easily. Im of the school that: commander should have his head out of the cupola as much as possible since awareness and ability to spot is far more important than anything else. Its not super common enemy tankers shot machine gun and if they do I can with a press of a button make the commander close hatch, the enemy is more likely to shot AP/HE shell and then it wont matter in a panzer III. If commander gets wounded: I return back to base for medical care or cancel the mission.

Thank you :) I think I saw you write you will do it with the Panzer III L, good luck with that and make sure you play on a server with a full front line, combat box and finnish server are the best ones for it.

Yes, I try on FVP but only once a week, for scheduling reasons not necessarily compatible because I prefer to start at the start of the game because I think this challenge will take me time since I will have to work around and ambush me. It seems difficult to me to be "active" with this tank but I train on AAS to get to know it better. ?
