I've been watching the development here since December last year and finally got the "nads" to pre-order. It was a hard decision for a number of reasons. I'm "old school." I've never been a great fan of forking out real money for something that isn't released, doesn't exist  yet, or may even never exist in the case of some Kickstarter ideas. However, times move on and I can understand why pre-ordering has been adopted by the gaming industry, especially pc gaming.

 

Also, there have been questions and concerns raised numerous times by others here to which I was also eager to know answers to, that as far as I can tell, have not been forthcoming for whatever reason. 

 

That said, I have bought everything that ROF has to offer over its 4 year life to date and supported 777 as a developer of high quality combat flight simulations. ROF has given me many, many hours of pleasure over that time and I'm hoping that BOS will do the same and be a worthy successor to bear the respected and original IL-2 Sturmovik label. 777's record with ROF and their commitment to providing as high a quality product as possible with BOS, is the main reason I have parted with my money. I also want to support the flight sim genre on the PC.

Well I had my standard pre order, spoke to Zak and Jason about upgrading to gold (thanks guys!), got the refund,then found myself 100 miles from home as my wife has just had open heart surgery,so it looks like I am out for now! Have fun if it is released before I get back home!

Hope Mrs. Uther is doing well. I just had open heart surgery a few months ago (#6 if any one's counting). It's not an easy surgery to recuperate from but it's certainly a lot better than it used to be.  Ultimately she will come out just fine.

 

Don't make her laugh or sneeze, please. ;)

So after a couple of months of lurking around these forums, following the development blogs and whatnot I finally decided to get myself a premium preorder. After all, what kind of aviation enthusiast would I be if I didn't own a ton of simulations that my computer may or may not be able to handle. Of course like so many have already mentioned in this thread and in various others I'm also glad to be able to support these kind of games in their development stages.

 

On the other hand I'm just way too fond of the good old Butcher Bird to not get one in every game where they are available.

Thanks HaJa. I'm pretty well covered there, my wife's a psychiatrist :lol: . Thinking about it, if I bore her too much about my flight simming she might have me committed :o:

Oh snap. Simming since Flight Sim was on a Texas Instrument 16K little black device connted to my black and white tv, no kidding. Had all of em, best in the day was the M$ string, but then IL2 popped up.. And, here we are all these years later... Now let's see, coffee check, pack a fags, yepper, and my spiffy bad ass new pc and all my F$ goodies. MHM It's a good day tater!

Just preordered premium.

Since there is no "Hello" thread and I did not want to disturb the Squadron Recruitments this seems to be the place to say Horrido everyone. I am really excited to get early access to the game. I came a long way from Red Baron, Flying Corps, IL-2, CloD, FSX, DCS, RoF and War Thunder (pardon me), BoS gives me hope to enjoy a brandnew flight sim experience, also because I work in the gaming industry and know how hard it is for this genre to adapt to these modern days. I am also looking forward to see Occulus commercial edition implementation.

I hope to meet new pilots and see again old veterans from the past (especially from IL-2 and RoF). Horrido!
