I realized that with the ridiculously small sweet spot of the G2, the actual position on the head makes a huge difference between blurry and not blurry, and even a few milimeters off can affect very badly the image clarity.

I am curious about how tight G2 users set the straps, it is just enough to fit the headset so that it will not move, or very tight to get even closer to the screens.

Many thanks in advance,

y.

I have mine for about a week now.
It's as tight as I can make it, and still every minute or so I do a little adjustment to put it "back in place".
All in all it's not a big problem as the adjustments are done without thinking, they become second nature, so to speak.
I do use glasses on a flatscreen, but the G2 and glasses are no friend of each other, so I'm g2-ing without glasses and that makes it even more blurry.
I'm aware there are possibilities for prescription lens covers, but I'm not there yet. Also there are mods for the G2 to have another facemask insert, as to improve the FOV by having the eyes a little closer to the lenses, but tinkering with the thing is in order now, purchasing mods and the like will have to wait a bit.

I have mine pretty tight but not crazy tight. I don't end up with marks on my face after a long session. Running an aftermarket faceplate from AMVR that has a removable (velcro) face pad on it. I like the pleather material better than the plain foam that comes on the G2. Softer, breathes, easily cleaned. I also have a counter balance set on it that also has a better velcro strap that goes across the top of your head. I just have it adjusted up or down (looser or tighter) so the sweet spot is where I want it horizontally. Between that and the weight being better distributed between the front and back with the counterbalance weight I don't find it drifting around much at all and it's very comfortable. Agree the "sweet spot" is fairly small but I'm just getting used to just pointing it at what I want to look at. Either way, it's far better in accuity over the RiftS it replaced. Light years.

Keep in mind that sweet spot isn't so much of an "in and out" thing as it's more of a "left/right/up/down" thing. Getting it centered in those directions on your IPD is best. Getting closer to the lenses can make a tiny diff but there's a limit to that! It is what it is with a fresnel lens.

I use a Danol face gasket, a home-made 200gr counterweight on the rear and a piece of thick leather added to the top strap to widen the pressure point on top.

The side straps I keep loose enough so it touches on my face with no light leaking in. I've got a prominent brow ridge and any sort of continuous pressure on it would give me a migraine so I always try to balance my HMDs rather than smash them on my face. I used a similar wider top strap and counterweight with the Oculus CV1 for the same reason.

Also fyi Studio Form makes a comfort kit with strap and counter weight for several headsets including the Reverb G2.

I have one on my Varjo Aero and love it, balances it quite nicely and I can use it for several hours a day no problem. It also helps making it easy to center the headset properly.

They also have one for the Reverb G2. I did not have one with my G2 when I had it but don't remember it being all that uncomfortable for me.

@dburneYeah that's the one I have. Just spaced out the name of it. Works great. Highly recommended. OG_Iceman has a couple of posts above that show what it's about in his vids. Has a discount code for it I think.

It might be a good idea. I will need to look for something similar available in europe.
