No your secret is safe... ;)

This really is good news.  Thx. :salute:

How good are these things? They sure look good, if pricey.

BTW, Virpil, welcome to Tampa! I relocated here a decade ago. Every year I save enough on State income tax I don't pay to buy a top-of-the-line gaming rig (not that I do). This city's growth is unbelievable.

I currently have their CM3 Throttle and their Rotor. Very pleased with both. I have a VKB stick which I like as well. But if and when I decide to replace it likely will go with Virpil now due to them being here.

I certainly won't try to discuss the politics that prompted this action, however it will be interesting to see how/if their US price structure correlates with EUR pricing.

The prices shouldn't be as bad as European prices. EU is robbing everyone blind, but we'll see.

Virpil makes outstanding stuff. had they had a North American store I would have bought their controllers long ago. I was traveling a lot and that waiting weeks or months for something to come, from the other end of the planet, kept me away.

A north American store is very good news.

Having just bought 2 pieces from Virpil Europe, I can say that the order to fulfillment time is maybe 10-13 days even though the website says back order status on the CM3 throttle and the Ka50 panel. I used DHL and was very impressed with their fill order rate. I am completely sold on there build quality having just been knee deep into their KA50 panel. Other than a fluke electrical board(there are several in this panel) failure, I can see their products literally lasting for decades, but having a Virpil store and support site nearby is a welcome addition. The Gents at Virpil take the meaning of hardware literally as my two pieces are built like a tank. See my entry in the 'Show us your cockpit' thread and you will see that I am pleasantly set for years to come with my new pieces freshly mounted(last piece yesterday) and I am off to start integrating my Ka50 panel into my profiles in another unamed CBFS while I wait for the next update in IL GBS which will permit me to make individualized profiles here. Happy Days for me!:)

It has more to do with my messed up schedule than them. I never know when I'm home for deliveries. I had to go to the post office a bunch of time to look for my package. Heck, Canada post dropped a rifle on my driveway and it was there for a day and half., until I got back. ?

Short range shipping, I can plan my pickups better.

Don't know if you can do this but I had a trusted retired neighbor pick mine up. I opted for the no sign DHL option and requested a Text once they delivered it. I simply texted my neighbor as soon as I knew and he picked it up 10 minutes later and kept it at his house until I got home. It is a good thing I did as they left it by my mailbox at the road even though I opted for front doorstep delivery. Fricking idiots. Anyway if you have a trusted retired or working from home neighbor it works.

Well I am really looking forward to this. Already having their CM3 Throttle and VPC Rotor, I have been very pleased with the hardware. And also I still have my original Mongoos T50 stick I got in on early pre-order when they first announced it. Although it is retired now it was a very good stick.

This news though will likely mean I will go with all Virpil going forward. I love my VKB Gunfighter Pro stick with extension and Ultimate Grip and have no reason to think I will need to replace it anytime soon, but will see. If I ever do feel the need I will likely get whatever Virpil is offering at the time.

I love VKB and their products, but really Virpil has gone so far ahead of them now in product offering. I was holding out for the so called VKB TECS throttle for years and finally gave up and got the CM3 throttle early in 2021 and very glad I did. Had a small issue with the mini stick on it and Virpil got it back, repaired it, and had it back to me in like 7 days total turn around which was amazing. And they made the entire process from filing the support ticket to getting my repaired unit back about as trouble free as it could possibly be.

Yeah I am pretty much sold on Virpil now with this news being the icing on the cake for me.

If Virpil ever came out with a WWII style throttle, they might just push me in their direction as well. It's getting insane waiting on VKB getting their act together with their TECS unit.

If they're in Tampa, that means 7% sales tax for me, but if I can drive over and pick things up instead of the insane shipping costs it will probably even out.

I’m excited to see what US pricing is going to be.  My TM 1600 throttle has started acting up - there may be a Mongoose in my future.

I'll just repeat what I've been telling folks over and over again after having tried both the WW Orion F-18 and the Virpil T50/Constellation back to back: The WW is freaking good, but in direct comparison, the Virpil felt even more precise and well put together to me. I never would've thought it before trying these sticks but both are definitely a cut above anything I've used before (including my VKB Evo) and the difference between the WW and the Virpil is also very much noticeable.

I'm not sure about the Constellation's looks, but other than that, this thing is pretty much perfect in my book.

This is so friggin cool and IMO exactly what companies like Virpil need: Some way, any way really, of letting customers try out their products before purchase. Once you use one of these high end sticks, it's very hard to go back to anything entry- or even mid-level.

Now.... how about a store for the EU? Preferably in my neck of the woods (Rhineland, western Germany) since it has a high population density and sits pretty much at the crossroads of continental Europe/the EU.

Pretty please? ?

I hope to be able to visit the Tampa store at some point in the not too distant future.

Make sure to give them plenty of notice that you are coming so they have one of the new T-50 Base prototypes for you to try out for us.  If they balk, tell them that should clearly be expected because they threw the teaser at us and then put a warehouse in the backyard of our official IL2/DCS hardware guru!

Lol unfortunately the new base will likely be out before I can visit. I am disabled and can not drive an auto so am dependent on my wife to take me. Also I am having some major spine issues and in a lot of pain, waiting to hear from the surgeon a date for surgery, going to have to have two discs replaced in my upper spine. Long recovery of 12 weeks and I will have very limited head movement for the first several weeks. Will probably even be a few weeks before I can flight sim again after surgery. So I am likely looking at sometime next year before can probably entertain a trip. My wife loves to go shopping and has been wanting to go to Tampa to check out some stores there, so won't have much trouble convincing her to take me. Just don't think I can handle the trip with the pain I am in. Riding in a car it gets much worse.

Don, I am very sorry to hear that your condition has deteriorated and that you are experiencing so much pain.  Please know that your efforts and interaction here bring many of us joy and valuable insight in a hobby we are privileged share with you, so thank you once again for that.

I hope that the surgery happens soon and will bring you some relief and eventually get you back into your cockpit for more comfortable flights.  In the meantime, aside from family time, I hope that you can enjoy some good movies, maybe some pancake strategy gaming, and Youtube time with some of our great content creators.

Thanks so much! Yeah I have quite a movie collection so I am sure I will be watching a lot of movies, and hopefully at least be able to keep up some with the forums when I feel good enough to.

Thanks everyone!!

Do you guys know, are they forcing PayPal for payment? i can't deselect it and my "buy finger" is itchy, but I'd rather not pay paypal 5%.

Edit:

Looks like PayPal is the only payment method right now. Since they have a container already in USA This shouldn't take too long. I went ahead and ordered  the throttle.

BTW, is there any photo of the upcoming T-50 base?

@dburne

Sorry to hear about your health issues.  Hope the surgery is trouble free and I wish you a quick recovery.

Yes, all the best with the surgery, I had C4,5,6 fused in the late fall of 2020. Recovery time wasn't bad at all; it sure makes you love the Necksafer app though!

Thanks - even with my current pain issues I still have not used it, not sure I will but we'll see. Going to have very limited head movement ability for the first several weeks so it may be in the cards.

I think you will appreciate it, you don't have to set it so that you have "Owl View."  I currently have mine set right to the point where my headset picks up my IRL peripheral view when looking back over my shoulder, which I think mimics reality and overcomes the limited FOV of my G2.

I was never in any doubt I'll get that throttle at some point. There's nothing on the market like it. It fits what I want perfectly. I was set on it for many years, it was that long wait that kept me from buying

For a new Joystick I'm still debating. Their MongooseT has all the features i want, but it's HUGE. It's so tall, I wish they made a shorter version, like the Alpha.

Keep in mind Virpil has a new stick on the way that from the teaser looks pretty interesting:

https://forum.virpil.com/index.php?/topic/11807-welcome-to-the-pilots-seat-virpil-controls-teaser/

But yeah those sticks are designed more for mounting to desk. WarBRD may fit what you are looking for better.

You should have it in about 10 days or less. My CM3 and then my KA 50 panel each got me in under 10 days with DHL from Europe, LOL. Enjoy when you do get it. I love mine.
