Another DServer and PWCG Question

Howdy.

I’ve been googling and searching to make sure I have all the answers but I feel like I’m missing something. My friends and I just setup a server and want to use a generated campaign I’ve been tweaking. I understand I have to transfer mission files to the box, and the logs back. Where are the logs saved on the server, and where do I place them in my files to continue? Also, are there any settings that need to be changed server-side to make sure all works well?

Thanks!

I'm running a PWCG campaign on a server and simply have PWCG on the same box as Dserver and do the mission generation and combat reports there and have no issues. This avoids having to transfer files or other mucking about. Initially as we were mid campaign when I created the server I had to take the PWCG folder and copy it over to the server. Same location there ie in the IL2 folder. Essentially everything stayed the same other than our mission generation and reporting now happens on the server PC. It does mean you have to point the server to the new mission each time though. Fortunately that's pretty easy.

Density settings for aircraft, ground forces etc in PWCG need to match your server's capability. You'll need to do some experimentation running missions with your clients to see what works for your setup.

old pc i7-2600K and 24 GBs ram. It does quite well for the 4-6 clients flying coop missions

Unfortunately it isn’t an option as I do no server control for our group. I’d like to and it sure would be easier, but I don’t wanna mess with that as it’s usually hosting an ArmA server that needs to go up and down etc. I appreciate the input though

Update: So we launched the server and had issues with the file transfer error. It seems the issue is with the .list file as the files originated on my pc and were dropped into the server folder. I saw one fix was to open the editor on the server and resave the mission and that should correct it. We have a hosted server, not a physical machine to do that with. Is there another workaround for the .list issue that could be done manually?

On your local PC, save the mission to the exact same path and folder as is set up on your hosted server. For example, if your local PC has your mission under game directory \data\Multiplayer\Cooperative or a subfolder such as \data\Multiplayer\Cooperative\MyMissionFolder, you save it there and copy it to the exact same folder on the hosted server (create that folder if it's not there already).

Removed reference to "coop" since I don't know if mission is coop or dogfight.

I shall try again, I may be doing something wrong when I zip them up to send them. PWCG has it defaulted to the right multiplayer folder on my end, and I know it’s going to the same on the box, so it has to be me messing it up lol. Thanks @JimTM

Sorry, for some reason I had coop in mind when I posted; I'm not sure if your mission is Dogfight or Cooperative. Just make sure the PC and server directories match.
