FTC_Riksen Posted July 5, 2022 Posted July 5, 2022 (edited) On August 24, 1942, while flying Spitfire Mk.IX AE-B, F/O Ian Keltie and his squadron were bounced by 50 Fw-190 while returning from a bomber escort mission in France. He was wounded in the leg by one of the enemies and forced to evade towards England. Halfway across the Channel, he managed to destroy one 190 before landing back at Kenley. This plane would later become the ride of Johnnie Johnson when he led the Kenley Wing. Although this profile attempts to recreate the historical aircraft, the real life counterpart was a 43 model equipped with the C type armament and did not have broad chord tail rudder. jollyjack Posted July 5, 2022 Posted July 5, 2022 Much nicer design ..... so were stuck with the broad tails in IL2. Time for a mod ?
FTC_Riksen Posted July 6, 2022 Author Posted July 6, 2022 @jollyjack As requested ... Correct rudder and armament (type C instead of type E). Cannot get any closer than that lol. Enjoy! 2
