Airfields for Jets

Looking for a comprehensive list of airfields with longer runways suitable for jets on the Rheinland map. Found this from @LukeFF

I see these fields mentioned.  These are historical fields for II/KG 51 and not necessarily in game fields.  It is also simply what this unit used and not necessarily a comprehensive view of jet capable airfields.

Essen-Mulheim

Rheine

Hopsten

Hesepe

Giebelstadt

Needless to say, my first Arado flight started on the grass and ended in the woods.  Need a better field.  I could just put the Arados on the same fields as 262s but I would prefer better options if there are any available.

Pat, all those airfields are in the game, yes. ? You also have Achmer (used by KG 51, Kommando Nowotny, and KG 76) and Munster-Handorf, which was the main airfield for the operational parts of KG 76 and its Ar 234s from December 1944 - January 1945.

Vorden was also used for a short bit by KG 76 at the end of March 1945.

Are you going to put the jet squadrons on those airfields in PWCG?   I always end up in the woods when I carry a bomb in the 262.

Except Giebelstadt, which is located a few kilometers south of Wuerzburg.

Hmm. I cannot opt to takeoff from those...

Quick hint on the Arado - use rocket assist.   The AI was unable to take off from Essen without it.

Yes, it was normal for Arados to use the rocket boosters for takeoff. Otherwise, it was just too slow to accelerate on takeoff without them.

Always. I suspect that few or no combat sorties were flown without. The takeoff run is too long.

As for Essen-Mühlheim. It was also too short for the Me 262. When they operated from there the 262s also had to use rocket pods. Look my post from 10/2019 below and the quote from Manfred Jurleit, Strahljäger im Einsatz:

For the german Jet airfields in general:
