69th_Mobile_BBQ Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 ...That Requiem is still interested or has the free time and is able to make the "How to fly (Plane)" series. With the release of the Mosquito, there hasn't been a video yet and I suspect that, much like the 262, the Arado is going to need a few extra steps at startup than the mostly automated sequences of the prop-driven planes. As much as I recognize that Req has done us a service by making the videos and has no real obligation to do more, I hope he will and is just busy with real life at the moment. 2
Bando Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 (edited) I know Requem made great video's in the past. I don't know if he'll make more, but why don't you try to do it yourself. After failing a few times, the process of getting it right will remain in the brain for as long as you live if you do it like that. At least, this is my experience. Try, fail, try again..... Edit: (I mean the flying part, not the video making) Edited June 15, 2022 by Bando 1 1
Pikestance Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 Has he made any sort of official announcement that he will no longer make "How to fly" videos? If not, then I suggest patience. He may be dealing with real-life issues. In either case, he more than earned our support.
Oyster_KAI Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 (edited) Now the Mosquito still be pulled to right by torque when taking off, is this correct? (It should be pulled to left ) Did Requiem put the Mosquito video on hold for this reason? Edited June 15, 2022 by Oyster_KAI

cardboard_killer Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 If the job keeps him from making his How To videos, I hope he gets fired soonest. Because I'm a selfish prick. 10
Trooper117 Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 Couple of things to remember on take off with the Mossie. 1. The Mosquito throttles have a short travel, do not open suddenly or you will get an uncontrollable swerve. 2. Open throttles slowly, differential use of the throttles will reduce the tendency to swing...
Ptolemy_Soter Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 Considering the fact that the new Arado is the most complex aircraft of the game I'll be glad to have a tutorial. More than simple tutorials, Requiem provides us with the historical use of planes and armaments which is priceless for enjoying the sim. 2
Jade_Monkey Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 I don't find the Mossie dificult but the arado has so many things going on, that a video would be wonderful. I'm mostly confused about the new sights and autopilot, any guide on those would be great. 1

Edit: (I mean the flying part, not the video making) It's not so much the issue of making the videos. It's that Req. often times has the "inside track" information from the dev team, such as the extra steps needed to start the Me-262 or trim settings or procedure to taxi or takeoff certain planes. Some of these tidbits of information come from being part of the testing team, which I am not. Without Requiem's videos, some of these things are not available as documentation that comes downloadable with the game itself. The reason I bring up the 262 startup is because the automated portion is based off of the real startup but, there are a couple of extra actions required by the player to complete the procedure that are exclusive to IL-2 and the design choices made by the team. Granted, most things can be found with searching online or 'game' methods can be improvised that work well enough but, having a good, detailed library such as Requiem's is invaluable. Even if the next-released plane is totally simple, I still check Req's videos to see if there's any little bit extra I didn't know about. 1

The sight is fairly simple, you just set the target altitude which is usually not that high on most maps and set the True airspeed of the plane. You usually perform the the drop from a glide. Aim with the horizontal line that’s moving up/down the vertical line. the autopilot allows for roll and pitch automation. activate the autopilot activate the channels and use RALT(I think) + arrow keys to adjust pitch and heading i hope that helps I can’t do a very in depth explaination right now. The Yaw and Pitch channels can then be adjusted. The Roll channel is not adjustable. Edited June 15, 2022 by LukeFF 1 2

I'm currently studying the Boeing 737, but the Arado will be covered. 17 hours ago, Oyster_KAI said: Now the Mosquito still be pulled to right by torque when taking off, is this correct? Guest deleted@83466 Posted June 17, 2022 Posted June 17, 2022 (edited) Quote What’s the bomb load of the 737? About 12,000 lbs, on 11 hard points, 6 in the bay, lol ? Edited June 17, 2022 by SeaSerpent
