Todt_Von_Oben Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 The plane's engulfed in flames yet the bots keep flying; still generally following you until they ultimately crash and only then do they die. Engulfed in a fireball, I think the pilot would lose control almost immediately, inhale flame, and lose consciousness / die seconds later. Instead of flying on to a non-survivable landing, I believe it would be more realistic if the stricken plane went violently out of control and plummeted from the sky, I have spoken. ? 2 1
US103_Baer Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 Related to your post, @=SqSq=SignorMagnifico made bug report on fires and the ease of extinguishing and carrying on without impact. Its worth reading as its not considered a bug but a DM function working as intended that needs modifying and may (wiil?) get addressed as resources allow.

Fires are not emergencies in IL-2 right now. The special rudder combo trick puts them right out. Fires are only dangerous to AI, who don't know how to use the combo trick. In summary, just keep shooting until you see the pilot slump over. It's more merciful, anyway.
Zooropa_Fly Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Fully agree with th OP. An enemy plane can be fully engulfed in flames, including the cockpit, and continue flying normally for far too long. If it's a 2 seater - the gunners will seem to be oblivious to the fact that they're burning alive and continue shooting at you for.. far too long. It's a bit silly.
