I have got steam to verify files 3 times, problem persists. I could fly Moscow but when I loaded Kuban game crashed every time.

I had this issue on the initial installation of the update. Solved it by deleting the update folder and reinstalling. All appears OK now.

First QMB in a Mosquito:

Remarkably responsive. Quite agile. Guns are easy to aim. Did an air start, but landed with no difficulty. Excellent feel to it overall.

 

When I put myself against a 190A-8, I wasn't absolutely sure I could turn inside it... but I was pretty confident I should be able to hit it. Was not disappointed.

No compass in a tank, even after restarting...

There is only the ammunition counter...

I hope it is solved soon, very soon

Use at least 2nd graphics quality preset, not LOW one.

The Mosquito is a joy to fly. Has some interesting quirks (Lack of rudder authority at low speeds because the rudder isn't behind a prop) but is responsive, powerful, and carries an absurd amount of arms. Doing near 600kmh on the deck is fantastic performance, too. With a bit of practice she should be a really effective machine. Gonna fly her a lot, I think

Looking great thanks once again chaps. On another subject , with the Normandy map having the channel to cross is there any thing in the pipeline to stop your pilot dying if he as to jump over water? i:e some sort of built in role of the dice to see if you survive / get picked up by ASR etc?

what should we understand then? Is this a bug, or is it an intentional change?

 

if it is voluntary, ok, we can even delete everything (it would just take oral commands to be able to find out about the azimuth or the remaining ammunition...

Every time I log in, something in settings is messed up. Every time there's an update, it takes hours to make things work. Now 4th attempt going on.

Launched the game with no problems, then went for a quick flight in the Mosquito with no problems, both the main compass and the directional gyro were working normally.

 

Very happy with this update, thanks team. :good:

Before updating I didn't have this problem, now I have it but only in the tank.

thank you for your answer, indeed, read quickly and diagonally ... we were quite a question about the server. if it can make the tank game less arcade and more headed towards a simulation, I'm happy

The game won't load after downloading the update.  I've tried rebooting, have checked the file integrity (5,000+ files missing apparently), opening the game from the IL2.exe file rather than the shortcut, and by going to STEAM and pressing the PLAY bar, all with no success.

Any ideas anyone please?

I try it on Kuban Autumn , and with 150 fuel (+25lbs) i get to 576kmh on deck, modification text say 27kmh more on deck with this mod compared to default version, and that is corect as without mod i get 549kmh. But tech do say max speed on deck should be 598kmh on 3000rpm +25lbs, so i dont know how they got to that 598kmh number on deck if its ment to be speed on autum map.

Also its realy slow up high, dosent look like it likes to be to high.

Good evening everybody,

 

as always the new plane is very nicely modeling and seems to be great to fly... as pilot...

 

unfortunately, like too often for the multicrew plane, all the AI seats are not playable. I hope I am wrong and not find the right key or setting to use it but apparently with the mosquito you have to fly only as pilot with a AI who could not be an other human or yourself... like for the Ju-52, the A-20 with the navigator/radio seat, for the B-25 which is only AI... and I am afraid that the collector plane C-47A it's going to be the same and only the pilot seat will be playable with a dummy AI copilot....

 

I hope I will be wrong, but please think to the people who would like to play in complete and fully multicrew in coop or multiplayer mission with a pilot, a copilot, a radio, a navigator a bomber and gunners and not only pilot and gunners...

 

... in a plane all crew positions are important...

Do you still have the exhaust night covers on? Those cause a lot of drag

No issues with my update. The Mosquito is very cool. Looks great. Flies great. It won't be a dogfighter to be sure but flown correctly, it will be a worthy opponent.

Maybe it's because the gunsight in that plane was offset quite a bit towards the cockpit center. In DCS Mossie there are two camera positions to switch between for that reason: the one straight on the seat (you can't aim in it) and the one centered on gunsight. I don't think Il-2GB has such functionality, so I'd hazard a guess they had to make a compromise.

It was, but, it would be nice to have the Gunsight Position Toggle to put you back in your seat, it's hard to see the compass in the gun sight view.  and the reticule is way too dim. Need an analog intensity control or digital for the reticule.

Oddly enough they're on by default, you have to check the removal mod to return the Mosquito to stock

Yes i turn that modification on also and now i get 599kmh, yes strange they say speed on deck for +18 version with them on, and for +25 with them off, so i was wondering why +18 speed i get what they say it should be but +25 was so slow. Now when i turn it on it looks like it should.

Most tank players relied on the HUD information even in expert mode.
It's unreasonable to be sat in the gunner or commander position and not have basic info relayed to you such as speed, compass heading and turret angle.

Mosquito is just so cool...It has a windshield wiper and lots of beautiful lights :biggrin:...More seriously this wooden thing is just Fantastic...:joy:

Well i just flew this beauty, man this thing is heavy,lol,i have been playing this game since it came out pretty much and it just gets better, i love how every plane has its own "feeling"  i played a single quick mission and i have some trucks and small targets set up and a flak gun that just never misses lol and this is how i always test a new plane'

 

I took off from a dirt runway and right before i slammed into the trees i was able to pull her up but man it was struggling a bit, just not enough runway and she flies great,loud inside that cockpit,i like that and of course the flak gun hit me head on but i wasn't done yet, just one engine pouring its guts out so i came back for another pass,that big Molin gun really shakes things when it fires but i was too low and just crashed against several Werchmacht trucks and i still didn't get that damn flak gun, ha ha ha.

Would you consider adding the same bandit callouts from the navigator that gunners have for other aircraft?

Alternatively/additionally maybe allow the Mossie to keep the minimap even in "advanced" HUDs to represent the navigator doing that job for you?

Edit: Reinstalled the game and the issue is still there.

 

I've had the "Game won't start in 1080p Fullscreen on a 1440p monitor" issue for a while (only IL-2 btw).

It was unplayable after last update.
Here's what worked for me.

Or maybe a crew function where you ask the navigator for a fix and he takes 30-60 seconds and gives you a rough position estimate?

mentioned this in gen. discussion,perhaps this is where if anyone has updated and game won't start or virus (norton)checker say's there is a problem.

Took the Mosquito out on one of my online maps.

Going to have a lot of fun with it, be sure.  Bombed some enemy freighters, sunk a DD with rockets, but the 57mm had no visible effect on freighters though. The main armament is outstanding as well.  It will turn an He111 into aluminum confetti with alacrity, and it makes an excellent flak gun killer.  And truck killer, and E Boat killer, and... and... and...  I did manage to shoot down an AI 109G6 Late, but it was a lot of work and I don't recommend using the Mossie as a pure fighter, it's totally outclassed by single engine fighters, though I did manage to out run a 109G2 AI on the deck.  I was about 100ft. off the water at full chat, and indicating 370mph and was slowly walking away from the G2.  I drug it over to an auxiliary base and a couple of AI Spitfires punched his ticket. 

 

I have no issues running the sim at all, by the way.

I looked right hard in VR and swear he was nibbling on my ear, going to keep an eye on that guy.  Thinking about swiping his boots, at least the gaiters.
