Anybody owned the Odyssey Plus and the Reverb G2 V2?

wondering if upgrade as an Odyssey Plus owner would make sense to a Reverb G2 V2.

 

Anybody commenting with hands on experience appreciated.

Uprgaded from the O+ to the Reverb 2 and I do not regret.

O+ , then upgraded to Reverb G2 much better, then to Vive Pro 2 , even better, then to Varjo Aero = AMAZING!

Yup, O+ to G2.  Zero regrets.  Yes gasket mod is comfortable and increases FOV, but realistically you are going to be moving your head.  Not so much FOV as small area of crisp view sweet spot (see threads re Varjo which has larger crisp view area and foveated rendering and slightly [cough cough] price).  Also recommend VR Optician lenses if you wear glasses.  I wear bifocals so used to moving head to focus, but it was trained in many years ago.  G2 requires more CPU/GPU horsepower so keep that in mind.

Yup, O+ to G-2 here also, the only better thing about the odyssey was the deep blacks and overall colors it gives with oLED's.  It was a nice headset for in the cockpit and viewing things up close, but a G-2 opens up the world of air combat wider by placing your eyes out of the pit where they should be for visual combat.  Not even close for the spotting and tracking ability, the G-2 leaves the O+ in the dust in that department.  Like getting glasses to see distant things clearly.

Reverb G2 is currently on sale $200 off at $399.   Don't know how long the sale lasts, but I've never seen it at such a low price...

That Vive pro remark made me curious.

So I checked some reviews, that however all report a change to straight edged lenses what resulted in more visible edges, even with a larger FOV.

Can you comment on that?

Vive Pro 2 , the colors, sweetspot and FOV felt better than G2, it felt like and upgrade when I went to the Vive Pro 2 from the G2.

Some other members in here who did the same ,

also commented they liked the Vive Pro 2 better than the G2.

same resolution but much better sweetspot overall feel and FOV.

Agreed. Vive Pro 2 is a pretty sweet headset for sure.

Just my feedback on G2 and VP2:

 

 

 

But never tried the O+. 

Didn´t go to the Aero since FOV is quite important for me. (IL-2 is my only game)

Overall quite happy with the Index (Perforamance, conmfort, FOV, edge-to-edge clarity) but I would like to have higher resolution.

 

In any case the G2 with the 200$ off is an absolute bargain then.

Il2 is my only game too, the Aero has a smaller FOV but is clear all the way, so at the end you get to see a headset with a huge sweet spot, and very  very clear and immersive,  IDing planes its easier, even when checking your 6 and you are looking at the edges of the lenses.

Smaller FOV is not an issue believe me.

My experience as well. With exception IL-2 is not the only game I run. The FOV of the Index was nice, but man that overall image clarity in the Aero is so far beyond that. However as Chlli picked staying with the Index over both Reverb G2 and Vive Pro 2 not sure even the incredible full image clarity of the Aero would do it for him. Index to me does not hold a candle in the image department to either Reverb G2 or Vive Pro 2. I am very glad now though I got the Index as I also have the awesome LIghthouse 2.0 tracking system and controllers that I still used with the Vive Pro 2 and now the Aero. Have not used the Index headset though now in quite some time.
