First time I flew FC (in a while) since cutting over to XR.   OpenXR and the Toolkit are rock'n with IL-2 now.  Managed to bag two Jerry's with my SE5a.  Graphics and performance are just awesome (for VR).

This worked for me, Picard:

And as for javelina it has made a big difference to both quality and performance in FC2.

Using NIS I have OpenXR Toolkit Size @ 100% and Sharpness @ 50%, and the game looks and plays better than before.

HP Reverb G2.1; RTX3080Ti, i9-11900.

It's a bit of a fiddle to get it all installed and running, but I suppose we're still in that early adopter phase of VR, but for me it was worth it.

Guys, what exactly is better?

I have also installed open composite and OpenXR Toolkit. I can run it fine, but it doesn't look any better and the reprojection (filling in frames) is far worse, so I find it runs worse than SteamVR. I tried turning off reprojection but than I do not get smooth frames. I don't see any improvement?

I have a Reverb G2 and 3080ti.

So, same specs as me, Vander.

Since changing from an Oculus Rift S to the Reverb recently I had been messing around with various settings to improve the performace.

OpenXR seems to give me excellent graphical performace and high frame rates.

Playing the first mission of [DBS]Tx_Tip's excellent "Captain Eddie" scripted campaign there are two full squadrons in the air, and frame rates rarely drop below 90 and even then only marginally.

I also have a test 1v1 mission, which is low over the Kuban hills & forests in autumn, and OpenXR delivers the best performance I've managed to date, both in terms of quality and performance.  In the test mission for example I am getting consistetly ~10fps more with OpenXR than via SteamVR (the latter measured using fpsVR, the former using the OpenXR Toolkit's own fps indicator), and the shimmering of the autumnal trees is no longer there. I can now see quite clearly the parts of the e/a that I am aiming at and hitting, including the pilot.

For me it has been a real up-tick.
