Pilot career due for overhaul?

I wonder why there are no female pilot's portraits to choose in Pilot career. There were women pilots flying planes other than the U-2. They flew Yaks, PE-2 and IL-2. Really a lot of the pilot career could overhauled. I've encountered Romanian 109 E7s and all them are flown by pilots with German names, the same goes for Italian planes. Surely not too hard to generate names for specific countries? The way it is now really spoils any sense of immersion. It seems SP player don't matter too much. I'd use PWGC but the missions and maps aren't all that goo.

Yeah it would be nice if the career mode had a refresh, I know missions and units get updated, but just the overall experience needs a slight refresh. So many little things could be done to increase the immersion level. Basically if they could combine PWCG with the in-game career mode that would pretty much sort it. Even if an enhanced career mode was a DLC I’m sure folks would pay to upgrade, I know I would!

I can’t relate to the accusation that the devs wouldn‘t care for SP. Career and AI are constantly improved. They regularly add scripted campaigns - some of them even for free. Yes there are many things I‘d like to see improved as well - but they are a small team and things take time. 
 

And I also don’t get your remark about pwcg. The maps are the same - and I personally really like the created missions.

A couple of years ago I bought an MC 202. When I started a career using the plane in an Italian unit all the pilots had German names.  That's just as ridiculous as having a German unit with English names. Really the loudest voices on this forum seem to come from online players.

Yeah like I say, it’s little things isn’t it? I know that Jason and his small team are flat out with projects and getting us the lovely aircraft we so desire but I would like to see the career mode given a little bit of a refresh. I never really dabble in online stuff so obviously im biased but for me, one of the things that sets the battle series apart from the others is the career mode and is something that if pushed a bit further will keep folks coming back for more.

The devs just introduced an advanced quick mission builder a few months ago, purely for SP use.  The idea that SP users are ignored in favor of MP (which has been unchanged for years other then the trickle down of aircraft and maps) is silly.

Yeah that’s true! I don’t play MP so can’t comment on what needs sorting with that. But I do hope the career mode gets a bit of tlc, even just some new mission types to go with the new aircraft we have would be most welcome.

You mean like the Traffic Interdiction mission type that was added only 2 months ago, to go with the new Ju-88C6?
