SRS: A Solution to Problem with Auto-Connect and Assignment to a Side on Spawn

I had an issue where SRS (Simple Radio Standalone) would not auto-connect when I joined a server and it would not move me from the neutral lobby to the radio for a side when I spawned a plane. I noticed that several people had this issue during the recent Combat Box Friday Night Flights event, but I also tested it on the Finnish server with the same results. I also noticed that the "IL-2" plug icon at the bottom of the SRS General tab was not green, but the Server plug and VOIP plug were green.

 

The solution for me was to add the following block of text to startup.cfg in the game "/data" folder:

 

[KEY = telemetrydevice]
    addr = "127.0.0.1"
    decimation = 2
    enable = true
    port = 4322
[END]

 

Somehow, this text block had gone missing.
