Since the latest update 4.704 that message on the desktop screen [ config errors found, save to CFGPool.log ] is back again ?

The previous update got rid of it ?      not a problem, I just have to ctrl/alt/del and have my task manager get rid of it before I can use the screen.

Hi! Can you please send me the mission where this error does occur?

The error does not occur in any mission, it shows up on my computer screen as soon as I close the game, and then i have to get rid of the message with my task manager

Then do a print screen so we can see the message.

The contents of the on screen message is shown in my original post [ CONFIG ERRORS FOUND,SAVE TO CFGPool.LOG ]

My desktop remains frozen until I remove the message

what was the solution to this issue.. the CFGpool.log details i have are below..

luascripts/worldobjects/dserver_log_tmp.txt: (1) Not a number or boolean value 'deathmatchmode' of variable '000000'
luascripts/worldobjects/dserver_log_tmp.txt: (2) Not a number or boolean value 'dedicatedserver' of variable '000000'

Probably something wrong in your startup.cfg file located in Il2 Strurmovik\data folder.

You could try deleting the file and having the game create a new one for you on next launch.  If you have some modifications to the file - just go over those and look for syntax errors .

I had the same thing which was due to a typo on one of the config lines.

thanks for the advice. Did as you suggested with no change..

i have a ticket logged with support and have forwarded the CFGpool.log file as they requested..

It appears to be a ' not uncommon'  issue that has appeared over several years..

if they provide a solution,,i will post it..

I found it using Google Lens to search for the image, which matched me to a Twitter post that included the link to the Artstation page. The artwork is titled "Brotherhood" by Piotr Forkasiewicz. Also found at:

Me and other squad members have the same error since yesterday.

And none of them changed his config by hand before...

It is not clear if it was solved 10 months ago. There was a ticket posted to support but we have no news if support ever solved it.

Maybe Regingrave knows about it.

I am currently trading emails with support and they are actively trying to resolve this issue..

The error msgs began 48hrs ago for me as well so perhaps this is a clue..

their first suggestion was to delete the following file..

data/luascripts/worldobjects/dserver_log_tmp.txt file.

unfortunately this action did not resolve the problem..

i will keep posting updates and hopefully a solution..

i am still waiting for a response to my last email to support..

there has been many to date..

i have advised them the issue maybe quite wide spread..

they asked me to send them the following...

  • startup.cfg.file
  • mission file
  • sds files

you might say the ball is in their court..

Hey Meyhem..what it shows in my log is listed below...does yours match ??

CFGpool.log details i have are below..

luascripts/worldobjects/dserver_log_tmp.txt: (1) Not a number or boolean value 'deathmatchmode' of variable '000000'
luascripts/worldobjects/dserver_log_tmp.txt: (2) Not a number or boolean value 'dedicatedserver' of variable '000000'

I fixed the problem ..  here is the fix ... the log reports that  there is a variable transgression  in the two lines in the  luascripts/worldobjects/dserver_log_tmp.txt file ..

just delete the file.. in the luascripts/worldobjects folder .. Im thinking apparently  some multiplayer game I was in the  faulty file was written in  that folder ,, IDK but taking it out fixed the issue for me.

I took the file out and saved it on my desktop just in case  but it works fine now with out it

yes same lines in mine too ..  my fix apparently worked for me .. it has to be some screw up in  someones multiplayer game that did it .. im my opinion  anyway

yea m8..

this was suggested to me by Olga at Il2 support a couple of days ago and i tried it with no success..

all i did was delete the file..

 [luascripts/worldobjects/dserver_log_tmp.txt file]

i tried again just now as you suggested but this time i deleted the [luascripts/worldobjects folder]

the error CFGpool.log window has not returned and i can exit IL2 normally..

fingers crossed it holds..

Hmmm...

Problem as reported is gone.

But Problem still exists and got even worse...

Before 'deleting' that folder I've got the error message,

could 'tab out' of the game to the message

and 'click' it.

Now (after trying to use the fix)

I get no message (good)

but the game freezes completely

and has to be terminated either by the task-manager

or (after tabbing out and in)

is reported as 'not responding' and terminated...

What have I done:

First I 'renamed' (so not deleted) the mentioned folder.

Then I started the game, started a quick mission and finished it

Next I finished the game -> result als mentioned before

Next I deleted the previously renamed folder and tested again

-> same result

Finally I restored the forlder and renamed it to its original name, started the game and tested again

-> same result

And as it seems that 'bug' resulted in playing on a MP-Server (I know exactly what server is the only one that could be the one)

and I do absolutely _NOT_ blame the server (or its hosters) for that bug

contact me by pm to get the name of the server

and afterwards contact them to get further informations

and fix it.

Because:

Having any server modify my game (mods are NOT enabled in my game)

or even parts of my game

is a major issue...

I have the same problem also .....

Fun Fact (or partially result)

After joining the server producing that error

and exiting the game

I at least receive the error message again

and can exit the game by clicking on that message...

Not what I wanted, but better than task manager after a completely frozen game

I too experienced my problem upon leaving that server.. but I didnt delete the folder,, only the file .. BUT later on as an experiment I deleted everything in the file and reinstalled the emply log file back into the original folder.. my game still works perfectly .. it was the two lines that it objected to.. at least in my circumstances

i reinstated the empty >>   luascripts/worldobjects folder  <<<

i have been in multi player in the 2 servers i usually frequent for approx 2 hrs and the CFGpool.log file returned resulting in the need to use task manager to exit..

i am now going to delete the above folder again..

I am going to share all this with IL2 support as it seems well....... "not right"

after more testing..

i can concur with JG4_Deciman..

the  >>   luascripts/worldobjects folder  <<< once empty seems to have no effect when exiting unless one M/P server is entered..

after logging into this server..

the file  >>  luascripts/worldobjects/dserver_log_tmp <<  is generated

at this point,.

the  >> CFGpool.log << window and subsequent issues return..

Same problem here with one server. I've tried some other servers and did not get any error messages.

Thanks for all the help in the above posts on this subject.

I have deleted the file " luascripts/worldobjects folder" and it seems my sim is back to normal .

Is it possible for somebody to send me a p,m, on what server this is coming from ?
