Game version 4.704 discussion: Sopwith Triplane and some improvements

Since this update I have noticed the techno chat (if that is the correct term for the info on the right such as throttle %, boost level, flaps changes, etc) disappear part way through a mission. I am always flying in career mode.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Sure you didn't accidentally press "h" to hide the GUI?

Yes, have seen this flying on a server. Some controls such as radiator were not shown, but later in the mission it was there again. Do not know how to reproduce.

IIRC they will disappear after a little bit and return if the value is changed.

I have also noticed this. It is not the same as the value not showing after it is unchanged for a time. It is simply completely gone. Did not turn it off. It has disappeared for me and not come back. Anyone reported this bug??

Also noticed this yesterday.  My mixture setting adjustments were not shown.  Stayed that way for the remainder 9f the time on the server.  Ended game and restarted.  It came back.  This happened twice during a 2 hour period.

I spottet a lot of new Autopilot settings. @Jason_Williams: Is it only for the Ar234 three axis autopilot or can we expect a bit more complex autopilot at all? To set the „Kurssteuerung“ was a bit more komplex than the simple AI Autopilot in the game we have now. When this simple system will replaced by a more complex Autopilot it will be together with the complex fuel system a great step forward to a great experience ?

Also noticed this. It’s only part of the UI that gets hidden.

Any news on fixes for hanging on finishing a flight? I've pretty much stopped playing since 704 because almost every time I finish a flight and click "Finish" to exit, the screen will freeze. Sometimes when you move the mouse or press Enter/Esc you can hear the sound effect but the screen is still frozen

Fixing bugs is not a priority unfortunately. There are some bugs reported for years and still not fixed.

For this post I got 3 day ban on forum for breaking the rule 6

It is forbidden to discuss the actions of moderators and administrators in any form on the forum.

and 17

Spreading false or harmful information about the product is prohibited and will be deleted by forum administration.

I don't have the clue how I would discuss actions of moderators and administrators when absolutely not mentioning them.
To not harm anyones's ego I just can modify my previous post:

Even developers are fixing bugs, some of them are persistent for years.

Now you are backtracking from the original statement and openly violating Rule 6 a second time.

Is that the one about Fight Club?

He mentioned that bugs are still present. Seems like a perfectly fair and civilized comment from a paying consumer.

Bugs are present. That's a true and accurate statement (as it is for almost every computer program in existence) and isn't against forum rules. However, saying that fixing bugs isn't a priority isn't. I've counted the mentioned bugfixes in the Game Updates; since June last year it's around 141. I would say that when someone who is not a member of the Dev team, and hasn't got any first-hand information about their priorities, makes statements about these priorities, it isn't either "perfectly fair" or "civilized".

It was his opinion. His language was polite. Maybe not completely accurate but nothing worth a ban. There are many aspects of this game with which various paying customers disagree. If the observations  are cordially given, then a ‘ban’ strikes me as unnecessary.

By the logic of your post, anyone not employed directly or part of a test team should not post an opinion. You really believe that such would be a healthy environment? It was a ‘fair comment’, if perhaps not entirely accurate. It was certainly civilized.

I have no skin in the game (pun!), but forum intolerance is sad and over indulgence in bans at best leaves people disinclined to contribute and at worse disinclined to spend money.

But, whatever dude. If you wish to sub-moderate then you roll with that.

I find it fair to talk about problems. It is not a cheap product and being a small company doesn't mean customers a forbidden to talk about bugs. Forum is full of complaints i can not see any difference here. Customer satisfaction is important and you can not just count in the quantity of good looking 3D models. The game has many flaws and the priority list is in my mind often strange. I struggle to buy BoN becauce, i dont care about good looking fancy ship models or V1 equipment. In my mind often wrong priorities, it keeps many player from buying new stuff. Best example is Tank Crew, many player report bugs and try to make the game better, but they do not even get a response. TC (high price product) shows me how bad the customer care really is, especially for single player.

Then you misunderstand the logic of my post. It's completely fine to mention bugs, or to ask why a certain bug hasn't been fixed yet. Or to question why the Devs won't make statements about the timeline they think certain bugs will be solved. IMHO, it's even fine to speculate why certain long-existing bugs haven't been solved yet, as long as you make it clear it's just speculation.

However, if you say the Devs haven't solved certain bugs yet because bug-fixing is not a priority, in a matter-of-fact way, as if it's truth rather than speculation, then that crosses a line IMO. Let's reverse the issue; how would you feel if in some thread you started and replying to a post by a third party, I mentioned you saying you're just a troll whose only reason to complain is because you want to hurt the Devs and the community (I'm not actually saying that, it's just to illustrate my point)? Would you feel that to be a "fair and civilised" comment of mine? If in your circles that counts as a civilised conversation, then we apparently live in different civilisations. Just like it's not "fair and civilised" to make denegrating and speculative comments about your reasoning behind your posts, IMO it's not "fair and civilised" either to make denegrating and speculative comments about the team's priority to fix old bugs, when replying to a post about a relatively recent bug.

I don't wish to sub-moderate any more than you did when you got involved by replying to MisterSmith ;)

Then why are you moderating people with your view of what is or is not allows? That is called.....moderating. Otherwise, feel free to clamp up.

To counter the voice of those people who feel they have the right to moderate the moderators. As the rules clearly state, if you don't agree with something a moderator does, you can discuss it in a PM to said moderator.

But you're right. I should've just kept quiet and simply reported your post for violating Rule 6. Instead of replying and coming close to breaking Rule 6 myself. Lesson learned. Won't make that mistake again. @MisterSmith, this thread prolly needs some cleanup.

Bring it back on topic to the 4.704 Update please.

Commenting on a particular bug can be done in an appropriate thread or by PM, This is, and has always been, allowed. Commenting on Dev intentions or making false claims about bugs, as a whole, is not. Further discussion of either of the latter, here, will result with full moderation according to the posted rules.

Had that issue as well, but with time it seems to have resolved itself.   No idea why.  Moving the mouse around while frozen seemed to have some effect for me.

With the new updated I am getting the same problem again. Game freezes on exit, mostly happens after flying QMB.   Interestingly, with the last update it went away after several weeks on its own.
