ST_Catchov Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 My C drive (includes W10 OS) is low on space and that's where I have GB installed. I read recently (can't find the thread now) that to move GB to another drive it's as easy as copy and paste. So I C&P'd it to my F drive which has heaps of space. And it worked and runs well with no apparent issues. So can I now uninstall GB from my C drive without any issues on my F install (settings, registry, other?). And what is the uninstall process in this instance? I know, as a last resort, I could always uninstall both and reinstall from scratch on the F drive. But that's a ball ache I want to avoid if at all possible. Thanks in advance.
CountZero Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 (edited) if you have game on steam, then you can move it with steam settings, and it deals with removing it from c and moving it to f on its own. if you dont have steam version then you can just copy and paste whole folder like you did and then just start unins000.exe in your main game folder in c drive. Also just to free up space, you could just simply delete whole game folder in c drive after you copy it to f. Edited April 15, 2022 by CountZero
ST_Catchov Posted April 16, 2022 Author Posted April 16, 2022 Thanks for the reply @CountZero No, I don't use steam. So removing from my C drive by either method won't cause registry or settings issues in the F install? It just seems so simple.
jollyjack Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 (edited) Mine is on G:\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles. Just copy the whole caboose in to any new folder on any drive, then run the launcher if you need updates, or maybe better the IL2.exe from the newly placed bin folder. You could rename the original folder first eventually to prevent errors or put it elsewhere as backup ... Edited April 16, 2022 by jollyjack

When i was moving no-steam game version i would just delete whole main folder (after i copy it to other drive) and it would make no problems, so i think nothing els have to be removed, everything is in that IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles folder.
