Popular Post busdriver Posted April 13, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 13, 2022 Just a quick note on a very significant milestone in the aviation career of our favorite 1GCCFP. @Requiem will begin his flying career with American Airlines on May the 4th 2022 (as every Star Wars fan knows this is an important date). If everyone could take a moment and raise a single finger (not the one you use to pick your nose, your middle finger ?) and repeat after me, "You're number one, you're number one." That's good. Good on ya mate! 20 3 32
Asgar Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 (edited) You're right, the 4th of May is an important date. It's my sisters birthday after all! Congrats mate and fly safe! Edited April 13, 2022 by Asgar
Requiem Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Cheers guys, it's pretty weird knowing that I'll be flying a bigger airplane which I've only jumpseated on so far but super happy to get started soon. Where I'm going is a far cry from where I started with my first flight lesson back in 2015! This whole thing has definitely been a fast pathway for sure, but I made it thanks to your help! 33 2 7

Just because it's bigger, doesn't mean you can't do a barrel roll. I mean, you probably shouldn't, but you could. Congrats! 6
[CPT]Crunch Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Try to always fly with the silver haired pilots, until you get a few yourself. 1
CUJO_1970 Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Congrats! Please don't hesitate to kick rude people off the airplane. 2
JimTM Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Happy (con)trails to you Requiem. Which aircraft will you fly at American?
Hoss Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Congrats Req...................... Happy Contrails.................
BMA_FlyingShark Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Congratulations, Requiem. Have a nice day.
pilotpierre Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Well done and we’ll deserved Luke, may all your camels be blessed with 2 humps and large gonads. 1
PatrickAWlson Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 @Requiem Just remember to keep your speed up before you initiate a half loop. Wouldn't want to stall and scare the passengers. 5
Jaegermeister Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 Good for you Requiem, It's great to see hard work pay off and allow you to do what you want to do in this crazy world. I would buy a seat on your plane any day!
I./JG52_Woutwocampe Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 Congratulations mister, its well deserved, and thank you again for all the tutorial videos! 1
Varibraun Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 Congratulations Requiem, I have no idea how you find the time to do all you do, but really glad you do! 1

Asgar Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 So… when are we getting the tutorial videos for that? ? 3
firdimigdi Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 Can't help but wonder if his in-flight announcements will have an intro with a chalkboard writing sound. 18 1

I'm going to be flying either a Boeing 737 or Airbus 320, but the way bases and airplanes are allocated initially is by seniority (which in turn is assigned by age) so we'll find out what airplane and base I get day one. 17 hours ago, Varibraun said: Congratulations Requiem, I have no idea how you find the time to do all you do, but really glad you do! Yeah my wife thinks I'm crazy..."You fly an airplane when you go away then when you come home you want to fly on a computer" lol 16 hours ago, Asgar said: So… when are we getting the tutorial videos for that? ? When I get my new type rating I could probably do a series if people wanted it. I could do on the RJ I fly now but no idea if that's worth the time lol 23 hours ago, Jason_Williams said: Get a route to Vegas!!!! Jason It's a certainty I'll end up in Vegas at some point lol 2 2

JG7_X-Man Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 @Requiem Awesome dude and Congrats! The owner of the flight school I attend is one of American Airlines 12,700+ pilots! Finally getting my CFR Part 141 - been looking at the Mooney Ovation III with a G1000 for awhile now. May your takeoffs = your landings! 1
AEthelraedUnraed Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 When I read "career update" I first thought it had something to do with the in-game career. Anyhow, Good luck @Requiem. In the unlikely case I'll ever fly American, I'll be sure to blame any discomfort on you 1

[CPT]milopugdog Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 Congrats Requiem! I tried to do this with the Air Force, but I sit at a console 60ft underground now. Go make sure all those nice folks out there get plenty of Biscoff cookies!
Charlo-VR Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 We won't know if Requiem is our pilot unless he introduces himself as Requiem on the intercom - which may not be a good idea on a commercial flight ? Maybe he'll have to sneak in a subtle IL-2 or ROF reference for us to recognize 1 1
tattywelshie Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Amazing stuff, I’m a keen watcher of your videos and can see you’re obviously a passionate aviator! Best of luck ?
ciderworm Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Great news, well done. I've benefited immensely from your videos, thanks. Boomshanka
cardboard_killer Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Be careful of what you wish for, you may get it. One of my old bosses flew gunships in Vietnam, and hired me to help give him enough leisure time to finish building a plane in his garage. I asked him why he went into accounting after retiring instead of flying. He said once you start doing something you love for money, it becomes hard to love doing it. 1
TheSNAFU Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Congratulations and a huge thank you for all you have done for the community. Without your tutorials I would have been lost! Safe travels. 1
