352nd_Wheels Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 (edited) I do not think it will come as a big surprise about Ubisoft closing down it forums but if you have any old private messages or even a thread you might remember having information you reference at the 1C Maddox Ubisoft forums then you need to go there and download a copy of those files before March 31st, 2022. 1C Maddox forums @ Ubisoft: https://forums.ubisoft.com/forumdisplay.php/24-1C-Maddox-Games In 2021 Ubisoft deleted all inactive forum accounts. I posted about it at that time. Ubisoft deleting inactive forum accounts: https://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=ForumsPro&file=viewtopic&p=206218 Now they are intending to take the forums Offline as of March 31, 2022 and move to a new Discussions platform, which they have already created. IL-2, Silent Hunter, and all old simulations content that is stored there is going to be lost permanently so if you know of something you want to get from there now would be the time to download a local copy of it, or hope it has been archived at the Internet Archive. DD_Arthur Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 Thanks for letting us know Wheels. Inevitable but nevertheless slightly bitter sweet in its own way. S! 1 2

Even though they have been quite inactive for the last few years I did use them for 1946 game information without logging in quite often. I have been on them since Sept 01, 2006 when I first joined while I was Playing Panzer General 3D Assault and came across the game patch for it. It was the only place I know that had the patches for 3D Assault and Scorched Earth. Transferred that account to my Dad and created my wheelsup_cavu account in 2009 (01/01/2009). One of the rare times that European and American date format does not matter. It has been so long since I logged into the site, almost 3-1/2 years (Oct. 22, 2018), that I had to use the Password recovery option, which still worked as of an hour ago, to get back into my account today. I was able to download a copy of my person messages, in three formats (csv, txt, xml), plus request a download of all my personal information using the Manage your Ubisoft account: link. That personal information request takes up to 24 hours to process. Manage your Ubisoft account: https://account.ubisoft.com/en-US/login Wheels
AndyJWest Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 They don't make forums like they used to: I wonder if we'll ever see the Svordwish in IL_2 GB? 1 1
352nd_Wheels Posted March 31, 2022 Author Posted March 31, 2022 Lol, it has been a long time but I do remember seeing and or hearing about that tube launcher post quite a few years ago. Wasn't in this SimHQ thread started by nearmiss though? https://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2886194#Post2886194 ---------------- And the forums are gone, gone, gone... I tried to do a quick search of the new platform and nothing came up. I also tried to look at some allegedly existing topics but you stay on the homepage no matter which link you click. That may change in the next few days as they get things sorted? Wheels
Eldur Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 The biggest corporate politics asshat move they probably could have pulled off. They literally dumped a plethora of good advice and support content on literally all their past games. Now, if you run into a problem with an old game, you'll never be able to find the solution again. And no, wayback machine isn't a solution as it's an utter pain to operate for content search on forums. Total BS, if you ask me, but as usual, this probably was a decision taken by some smart cash grabbing suits who can't think from 12pm to noon unless it's about their very own profit. 1
DaveP63 Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 So where does Diadalos go with their official patches for IL2-46? I would assume M4T?

The IC Entertainment forum is still up (though disappointingly no longer ?coloured). Diadalos have generally used that for IL-2 '46 patch distribution etc. http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/forumdisplay.php?s=84fd8740e721e6c5a359d09c6a225698&f=98 2
