Marcio Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 Will the Ju 88 C-6 have the system as the Stuvi dive bombing device?
Marcio Posted March 9, 2022 Author Posted March 9, 2022 It's pitiful! It would add so much value to the simulator... Thank's for the feedback!!!
=KG76=flyus747 Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 I'm not really surprised by this outcome honestly. This game has been neglecting bombers since Kuban. I'm sure there's a historical document somewhere that saves the programmers the time to create this bombsight under the guise of "historicity" (and LukeFF will defend it to the death). The bombsights we have currently have a big problem as shown here... "Scrolling Speed" Bug (Note the difference in scrolling speeds before/after 00:19) "Stuck View" Bug (Note the "stuck" camera at 00:07) Admittedly, I've brought it to their attention but it's so messed up there's just no reliable way to reproduce it. Once it happens, the only fix seems to be to restart the game. These bugs are only noticed by those who have spent many hours level bombing in IL2. My current theory is that everytime you access the bombsight, you open a random lottery where there is a 1/100th chance the game will give you a bug. I don't know how these bugs get triggered and neither do the devs unfortunately. As such, it is hard for them to address in the face of ever growing fighter related content and issues. It makes me wonder if the Ar234 will have its own unique bombsight or will it simply use the recycled Lotfe bombsight interface we currently have for the He 111/ Ju 88s. They did not use the same bomb sight. He 111/ Ju 88 mostly used Lotfe 7C Ar 234 is a bit tricky... It was tested for level bombing with a Lotfe 7K but operationally only used the BZA (refer to image below). The question then becomes, as a video game about WWII, do you only want what was actually used? or do you also want them to use what would have possibly been used? If it was me, I would give players some modifications that would have possibly been used otherwise we would only be able to see aircraft in their historical renditions which, as you know, was not a equal development on both sides. Allies got better and better toys while Axis got fewer and poorer quality toys. For multiplayer, this becomes a problem on servers like FINNISH where "Planeset 12" for both sides leaves one side heavily disadvantaged because IL2 only lets players use "historical planes". All of this is to say, if this Ju 88 C6 toyed around with a bombsight in real life, the devs should include it for gameplay reasons. Give players the option to play out ahistorical scenarios, with restraint of course (im not advocating for some Wolfenstein bomber here), instead of just constantly strictly constraining them to a 1945 or a 1944 or whatever scenario. 6
1CGS LukeFF Posted March 9, 2022 1CGS Posted March 9, 2022 The C-6 was a heavy fighter, hence it had no need for a fancy dive bombing sight. As @Asgar replied in the other topic, the C-6 used the Stuvi about as much as the 109. ? 1 5
