Mod for gun sight brightness?

Hey all;  Did a search but didn't find anything.  Is there a mod which allows you to adjust the gun sight brightness (in my case Russian), I find the Russian sight on the La-5 is too dim for me, me being partially colour blind, I know COD you can adjust the sight/site.

Does LAlt+F help, or make it worse?

No effect at all from what I could see, I tried LAlt+F, LAlt+M and RAlt+F.  In COD I normally turn the sight full bright.

I'm really not sure but I think that the La5 shares the sight from the I16. I've dug out the dds file and packaged it like a JSGME mod BUT I have not done anything to the dds as I am just not good at digital artwork. Something I'm hoping to get to one day but right now I don't have the skills.

 

If someone can either brighten the recticle or perhaps change it's colour to one that isn't a problem for you or both then perhaps it will help you.

Thanks for this.  The yellow on the German aircraft sight I can see no problem, but the pale orange of the Russian is hard unless I zoom right in and get it bright orange, I am partially colour blind to red.  I was trying to find the sight but couldn't locate it, didn't really know the structure of the GB series.

 

**in paint.net with dds plugin this show a blank screen so I downloaded DDS viewer and it just shows a blank black screen**

I follow a couple of steps in Gimp by rote to view this type of thing. First I open the file then untick the alpha layer. I then see a black square with a very faint quarter circle and on the left and bottom edge I see half a reticle. I figure somehow they show this quarter 4 times rotated appropriately to get the full sight picture. As you can see to make it show in the pic below I fiddled with the brightness and contrast - which has washed out the background. You need someone to get the orange bits brighter and colour changed without stuffing up the blackness plus then they need to put back the alpha layer which conceptually I know somehow makes the thing transparent in game plus save it in the correct format. If someone knows what they are doing it's probably 30mins work. I also don't know for sure if this is the sight for the La5 but I can't see anything else so figure it is shared between Russian aircraft. I had to find a dds plugin for gimp to open the file.

Sorry was mucking around at lunchtime and confirmed that the file I attached is not the La5 sight and only affects the I16.................so back to the drawing board and no point spending more time on what I've given you.

 

Perhaps try to contact @Oyster_KAI and describe your colour blind problems with the La5 sights and he might be able to give you a modified version of the sight as a mod. Oyster_KAI did all the 4k cockpit texture repaints that are now part of the official game so most likely can assist you as he's familiar with the files.

I will give this a try, thanks.  I didn't think a VR mod would work when running IR.

 

***SWEET!  I cranked the La5 sight up +5 and it glows a lovely orange colour against the clouds, I can see it now.  Thank you for this.***

Hello, there is a performance penality of few fps due to the usage of the library itself.
