Jason_Williams Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Quote 307 Hello Everyone! Today we bring you some news from the Great War! We are nearing completion of the final trio of Flying Circus- Vol. II aircraft. The Gotha G.V., Handley-Page O/400 and Sopwith Triplane are coming along nicely. The Gotha G.V. will be released in our next update, which we hope will be by the end of this month. The HP O/400 and Tripe will be in a March update. The Western Front map for FC2/3 is also being worked on by Ugra Media, but it is not ready to be shown yet and will likely take more time to complete that we originally planned unfortunately. A clear estimate on its arrival is not possible at the moment, but will update you as soon as we get a better handle on it. Map making is a slow process in general. Full Text and Visuals HERE. Ribbon Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 (edited) 1st I'd like to thank @Rjelfor believing in me. Edited February 11, 2022 by =VARP=Ribbon 2 1 1 1
ZachariasX Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 HP! Gotha! Yeah! Thank you guys, they look beautiful. Can't wait for having them in the sim!
ChauveViking Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 I can't wait to see the photos of the 88 C6 1
Rjel Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Those USAAF gunners look great as do the WWI crates. Hoping too for an end to the pandemic. I hope it isn't replaced by more tragedy on the world stage. Thanks to the team for carrying on in the face of it all. 3 3
[CPT]Crunch Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 May have to actually try and fly some of my unused WW1 kites one of these days. For sure if the map they build is even half as good as their Syrian map is. 1
Lord_Strange Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 I was hoping we would see the Davis Gun return on the HP. I'm going to spend way too much time trying to get an air-to-air kill with it. 1
Asgar Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 gotta admit, i got 0 interest in the wooden crates or the 88 for that matter. I just want to see the Mossie and the 410 ? 1 1 2
[F.Circus]MoerasGrizzly Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Quote we want to say THANK YOU to all who have supported us during the last couple years as we have struggled to maintain a steady flow of content and improvements for the Great Battles series. Hey, the Great Battles series has been one of the things that kept me sane throughout these couple of years, so thank you 2 1 8

The chaps I fly with online have been, by far, my greatest social outlet during the whole mess of the pandemic. Without them, and the Great Battles series, I would have gone even more peculiar than I did. Wibble. 1

[F.Circus]sith1144 Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 very exciting update! I wonder if the Flak vests will actually offer any protection the the gunners
[RBRI]Khaela Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Oooooh I can't wait to take the Gotha for a spin in VR. Boy have I been witing for these big birds to be added ❤️ 1
Avimimus Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 I really appreciate all the little updates to the WWI aircraft - they are not going unnoticed.
=621=Samikatz Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 So excited to get my hands on all those WW1 birds. Can't wait to drag all my friends into the HP's turrets so we can all perish in a terrible flying accident together while trying to hit other planes with the anti-sub gun
Voyager Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Sorry to hear the map's taking longer than hoped, but the planes look really nice. Looking forward to seeing them in the air.

I tried using it to attack the Ilya Murometz in Rise of Flight... it was pretty hilarious. It made me want the Murometz variant with the hand-loaded 37mm... the duels are somehow magical - with such enormous slow aircraft using such enormous slow-to-fire weapons.
ROCKET_KNUT Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 (edited) GREAT! Looking forward to those heavies! I´d love to say "THANK YOU TOO DEVS!!!" by purchasing several copies of something flyable... Makes a great noise, is as fast as..., name starts with "A-" and ends with "26C". You need any other clue? Here you go: Edited February 11, 2022 by ROCKET_KNUT 1

Looking forward to seeing them in the air. Based on what Jason posted earlier, the update seems to imply that (if all goes well): - Ju-88C6 and Gotha G.V in late February - Sopwith Triplane and H.P O/400 in late March (and maybe AI B-26) - BoN and FCII maps sometime in the Summer (and possibly some of the remaining BoN aircraft or the V-1, and the collector tanks) I'm personally just excited to see any of this come to fruition. I'm also looking forward to the post-summer collector aircraft, updated decals etc. 1

Guest deleted@191198 Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 I hope new sky technology release in next update with Ju 88 C
sevenless Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Yes! I´m interested to find out how it handles. 3
JG4_Moltke1871 Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 I have to say thank you to the Devs, the Pandemic brings me to flight sims and Especially IL2 Great Battles/Flying Circus. This great game/simulation makes the world much sweeter for me and I can forget the Chaos outside for a lot of hours. So I can’t wait the next update to enjoy your great works results and especially the Gotha and the Ju88C ? But …-Jesus-.. this plane and gun will also get my attention when it comes out: Attacking ground targets (and maybe submarines on a later map?) with it must be a great challenge ? 1
Luftschiff Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 GOTHA! HANDLEY! DAVIS! I am so excited to relive our pirate-ship like bomber duels in those things. Thank you for doing those giants justice!

Ala13_UnopaUno_VR Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 We have also made more progress on our new sky technology and are currently working to put it into Beta soon. Next week we plan to update our Astro-dome (stars and planets) to be more accurate depending on the latitude of the map. This is a small, but interesting improvement to make our physical world a little more accurate. thx¡¡ VR apreciate 1
A-E-Hartmann Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Thanks for this great news.? Can't wait to see the Ju88C-6. 1
J2_Bidu Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Beautiful stuff. We can't get rid of the Tripe's middle wing, I sPupose? 1 1
JGr2/J5_Hotlead Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 The Handley is looking beautiful! ? Thank you for continuing to work on the series. Flying in Flying Circus has definitely been one the bright spots for me during COVID. Hopefully you all can finally get out from under all the lockdowns and inconveniences. To 2022! ?
JLean Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Thanks for the Friday update these are great starters for the weekend. Those WWI "heavies" might be enough to add one more product to my basket. but that Zerstörer I am really waiting and those new ?⭐ JLean

Yeah, it's been ages since I've used it in Rise of Flight, but as I recall it takes a lot of practice to get good with it. The funny thing is that this thing was also intended to be an anti-Zeppelin weapon. ? 1

The funny thing is that this thing was also intended to be an anti-Zeppelin weapon. ? I recall it as a good climber, and only having somewhat of an edge in maneuverability. I also recall it being a bit limited in roll rate. It is one of my favourites in just about any sim, but it certainly isn't a Dr.I (thank goodness!) It'd be interesting to have a fly-off between it and the Sopwith Pup (with its low-wing loading bi-plane configuration)! 1
ITAF_Rani Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Great update as always... So B26 bomber release is confirmed?
1CGS LukeFF Posted February 11, 2022 1CGS Posted February 11, 2022 Oh, one other thing I noticed about the Davis gun that I'm glad has been changed - now it has a Lewis gun on top to help with aiming. In ROF, it had an Aldis sight, which I think was done because at the time a gun turret couldn't have two different weapons. However, it looks like that the ability to have two weapons in a turret in Tank Crew has made it over to the aircraft side. ? 4
easterling77 Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 We have to thank you and the whole Team Mr Jason Sir I'm so glad, that I stumbled back on flight sims in 2019 and I will stay at it cause of your outstanding work that keeps my passion alive? And Ju 88 C6 soon ? ? Big Bad Bird ?
tbauchot Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Thank you very much for all your good work, but what do you mean exactly by that : "The Western Front map for FC2/3 is also being worked" Do you plan a FC3 ? A new paid add-on, or an evolution of the current FC2 ? Regards, Thierry.
