343KKT_Kintaro Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 At least 6 items in this list are items I created in the BugTracker... Thank you TFS, I'll check all of this very quickly. 3
343KKT_Kintaro Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 After hours testing all potential bug situations today, I'm almost sure that all six bugs I mentioned above have been fixed. As an example only: Thanks a bunch TFS! 2 2
blockheadgreen_ Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 The new Merlin sounds are exquisite. 3

Same as the warning horn: this new sound in the game makes me wonder... were all 1940 [and afterwards] Spitfires equiped with such a warning sound? Even the Spitfire MkIs during the Battle of Britain? Going back to the Merlin 45... as I know nothing about Merlin engines, I found in the internet that the Merlin 45 equiped the MkV series of Spitfires. After testing one MkI, one MkII and two MkVs in the game, it clearly appeared to me that this new sound only happens when fling the MkVs in the game... is this correct?

I believe the warning horn disappeared in later Spits though some very early Mk IXs converted from Vc's may have had it. In the patch notes they say it'll be rolled out to all Merlin engined aircraft in forthcoming patches. 1
343KKT_Kintaro Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 Ok then, you're right about the Merlin 45. Indeed, I read too fast! Excellent news as this improved sound will reach all Merlins in the game: cool! About the warning horn, Lythronax, you seem not to be sure ("I believe"). Nevertheless I thank you for your response. If others have more precise data on these warning horns, I'll be delighted to read their answers.

Team Fusion ATAG_Pattle Posted January 20, 2022 Team Fusion Posted January 20, 2022 You will here when getting hit. 1
LLv34_Flanker Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 (edited) S! I still have problems with sounds online when hit All I hear is a "snap" or the sound of bullets whizzing by. Got hit by a Bofors in the wing, no sound just the plane dipping a bit. Same mission moments later heard a snap sound when hit somewhere. Moments later 3rd Bofors shot cut wing off, without a sound. ATAG server, ping solid 120ms as usual. Have not tested offline if any difference. Could it be the built in Realtek soundcard and/or it's drivers? A Windows update breaking something? As of lately also had crackles occasionally. I did disable any other sound device to minimize conflicts etc. Otherwise no isssues with the game, even the latest AMD gpu drivers seem to work flawlessly. EDIT: Trying if setting sound quality to 16-bit / 44100kHz, spatial sounds off, enahncements off. Disabled all other sound devices. Back to testing. Edited January 20, 2022 by LLv34_Flanker

Always used to be the case you needed in game sound set to 100%, and use Windows volume mixer to reduce the level to something bearable to hear all game sounds. I presume you've done this too?
LLv34_Flanker Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 S! @No.54_ReddogYep, done that. Also disabled exclusive application privileges on the speakers etc. as in FMOD troubleshooting. Could be the Realtek just ain't good enough. Pondering if a real soundcard would be better. Anyways seems the crackling has reduced a bit. More testing.

Not a problem on your end, this is an problem with the shooter (player or server controlled ai and flak) is shooting at you and hitting you on their vision, but because of lag bullets do not travel the same path on your vision. Damage will be forced to your aircraft by the shooter retroactivly, but the sound will be played depending if your computer sees the bullets hitting your craft.
Team Fusion FG28Artist Posted January 27, 2022 Author Team Fusion Posted January 27, 2022 (edited) With certain joystick/hotas/controller setups the Spitfire's Landing Gear Warning Horn was always on when gear is up. Also the sound appeared in aircrafts where it was not supposed to. The hotfix which was just distributed via STEAM disables the Gear Warning Horn completely until the cause is found. 343KKT_Kintaro Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 Thank you Artist! What about the Merlin sounds? Are now with this hotfix, for example, all Spitfires presenting the new sound? The sound of my MkI gives me such an impression... am I right?

Hi Kintaro, Not with this update but they will be transferred across to all Merlin's in the not too distant future. Cheers! 1
