As said, I cannot start my game cause the gaem folder is set to "read only" and according to the Q&A at the IL2 homepage I have to untick that. But I do so and klick ok, rightklicking again it´s set back to "read only"! The game is in an own disk so it isn´t the UAC or any other win protection that I know of so why the hell can´t I decide what is what! Can someone please help me on this! By the way the game is on a brand new SSD M2 nwme 1TB.

I read the article but in my dismanage the disc isn´t recognized as read only, it reads online. I´ve tried via diskpart, and via regedit. when I try via chkdsk I get the following reply

C:\Users\<my name>chkdsk h/f/r/x
Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges or
the disk may be locked by another process.
You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode
and make sure the disk is unlocked.

C:\Users\<my name>

So what is elevated mode?

Next step seems to be to format the disk but I dont want to do that yet as I have not spare space anywhere else to save the files on the disk. I just might to have to buy a storage disk of great capacity to save my day!

Elevated mode means running it as admin. In the windows search box (bottom left of the task bar), type cmd to find the Command Prompt app. Right-click it and select "Run as Administrator".

@AEthelraedUnraed I formatted the drive like in the instuctions you sent me and I´m reinstalling the game at the moment. When it´s finished I´ll test and report back. maybe not today thouh. In another thred about the problem of starting the game

I´m told they are going to fixthat soon. Then this operation will be unneccesary! But it might help others if they have similar issues. Thank you very much for your help!
