THERION Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Hi, I'm not sure if it's already been reported, but I noticed the following: When I sit in the cockpit of the Mustang P-51B-5 using the Malcolm canopy during taxiing with open hood I realized, that I can lean out of the cockpit on the left hand side, but not on the right hand side. The right hand side seems to be blocked like if the hood was still closed. Left hand side works as it should. Not a big deal at all, just wanted to mention it. Thanks. Sorry, if it is already a known issue/bug. Cheers 1

Unfortunately, we can't have two sets of head movement restrictions for the same plane, so Malcolm Hood shares it's restrictions with the standart cockpit, thus, no leaning right; Edited January 4, 2022 by Hanu

Shared restrictions? I don't understand what you mean. I can lean out left AND right on all other planes. It's only an issue with the Malcolm hood.

The way I understood it was that there is one plane, two different cockpits, but same limits. I guess it is because normal cockpit opens only to left so you can peek to that direction when cockpit is open (applies to closed cockpit too even more limitations), but not to the right as your head would hit the glass. It sure feels weird as Malcolm hood slides back and the right side is seemingly open but same limitations still apply. As far as I see, the best solution would be two planes; a Mustang III with Malcolm hood only and Malcolm hood limitations and second a P-51B where you cannot use but the normal more restricted canopy. But then you could have different limitations for each plane. 1
