This is happening more and more frequently with each update.

i9-10900K, nVidia 2070 Super, nVidia Graphics Driver 496.13 (was also happening with v457.30)

What's the word on this?  I've seen others posting the same problem, but no response from the devs that I've found.

Thanks!

Could you maybe also provide your NVidia graphic settings and if possible your configuration file "startup.cfg" from your game directory? These settings

and files could help analysing your issue. Thanks.

I don't have an nVidia Control Panel profile for IL-2 Great Battles, so it is running against the global settings which are pretty much stock (see attached images below for settings).

Here is my startup.cfg

OK, thank you. Now, did you try to different graphic settings in your game or is this setup from the beginning? Let me explain, what my thoughts

are.

- I see your game's graphic setup and you almost have cranked up every option to the max.

- I see your NVidia panel setup and here you chose the highest quality setup

Now, there is nothing wrong with it, but - again, this is my thinking - maybe there is a combination that is not 100% compatible with the game's graphic

settings and/or NVidia's setup. Of course, this is a guess, but maybe we can drill it down to the point that your phenomenon disappears hopefully.

My suggestion would be to leave the NVidia setup as is, but to modify your game's graphic setup. Let's start with the settings I think might cause some

trouble in combination with your NVidia setup and/or your game's graphic setup:

- either set Vsync in your game or set it in your NCP to fast, because now it is not defined resp. points to Nirvana

- change your MSAA from 8 to 4 (you can set it manually in your startup.cfg file multisampling = 2)*

- disable HDR and SSAO (don't forget to set bloom to 0 in the startup.cfg file)*

- you can leave the preset "ULTRA" in your game

- do you have a ForceFeedBack device you actually use in your game? If not: set enabled to 0 in your startup.cfg.*

*if you know what you're doing and you are not someone with two left hands as we say here ? .

Doing this manually has the positive effect of not launching the game twice after every change. Of course, after modifying

your startup.cfg, save it and close it before your launch your game again.

Hope I can help you with this suggestion. Good luck.

Cheerio

Thanks for these ideas to try @THERION  I'm going to try each one, one at a time to isolate which one eliminates the problem, if it does.  And then I'll try them all at once to see if that helps (if individual changes don't help).

To answer your first question, these are the settings I've been using ever since I got this new computer just over a year ago (Nov 2020).  So other than changing my nVidia driver from 457.30 to 496.13 when the problem first showed up 6 or 8 weeks ago, I haven't made any changes over the past year.  And I had never seen this problem until 6 or 8 weeks ago.  And here is the weird thing, if I exit the game, reboot my computer, and then relaunch the same mission, the problem almost always goes away.  But it can show up the very next day on the next mission I fly.  So I reboot, restart, rinse repeat, and it usually goes away.  So the problem has become frequently intermittent.

I'll let you know if any combination or a single change fixes the problem.

Cheers!  :drinks:

P.S.  One other question on this point...

"- either set Vsync in your game or set it in your NCP to fast, because now it is not defined resp. points to Nirvana"

I have a G-SYNC monitor, and I thought with G-SYNC monitors you were supposed to turn V-SYNC off.  I'll try turning it on, but just curious how the two work together, or don't work together.  My frame rate is always 100+ fps, and often right at 144 fps (my monitor refresh rate), so I've got plenty of frames to give up, but always wondered about G-SYNC vs V-SYNC.  Thanks!

Might try a clean install of your gpu drivers, that's fixed weird bugs for me before.
