Attention All Pilots and Tankers!

We are proud to announce that we have opened Pre-Orders on two new Collector Tanks and a new Collector Plane for IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles series!

The following are now available for Pre-Order in the IL-2 Official Webstore! All feature a 20% Pre-Order Discount!

- Churchill Mk.IV Heavy Tank

- StuG III Ausf.G Mobile Assault Gun

- IAR-80/81 Romanian Fighter-Bomber

We continue to expand the selection of aircraft and tanks that can be operated on any map in the Great Battles series and create entertaining matchups in both our Single-player and Multiplayer environments. We have chosen these subjects as they further bolster the historical options you have as a player or mission builder for Tank Crew, Battle of Stalingrad and Battle of Kuban. However, as always they can be used on any map against any opponent you wish. These new tanks and the IAR-80/81 also add some very interesting history to the Great Battles series. The Churchill tank was offered through the Lend-Lease program and the IAR, flew for both the Axis and Allied sides during the war! The StuG was on just about every battlefield everywhere.

The tanks are once again being built by our talented partner DigitalForms and the IAR-80/81 is being built by our long time friend and collaborator Ivan Shirshov. We also plan to make a Romanian pilot and language pack for him.

Im actually somewhat disappointed in the announcement of the Churchill. I think it would have been interesting if you had managed to include the 'Funnies' like the AVRE and the Crocodile. But I guess it is what it is.

Yes!! Was hoping for a Churchill. Perhaps it can be used on Normandy and Bodenplatte? (Not sure if the Mk IV was common in 1944, probably the VII would have been moreso, but still!)

The announcement mentions the cannons.  Do we get the cannon armed versions of the IAR as well?

Great news anyway.

Thank you.

Thank you!.

That IAR is on my shopping list for sure, such a charming little plane with such a long history. Excited to try and take it up against the late '44 Luftwaffe as an underdog! Definitely tempted by the Churchill, too, I am less of a tanker but it's too good of a fit for the Normandy map

I'll be picking up everything when I get home for lunch.

I love you, dude, but that last Churchill IV is a Churchill VII Crocodile.

Still loads of Mk.IVs around, I think in June 1944 they were still the most common type in Normandy. Plus, the Mk.IV is close-enough for the Mk.III, which was also present in significant numbers.

A few months ago I was so indifferent to tanks, but since @Jason_Williamswas kind enough to award me Tank Crew as a prize I've been captivated by driving these lovingly created works of art around the il2 scenery. As such I've instantly bought these collector tanks, (as well as the 190 we already have at home).

I'd recommend Tank Crew to anyone.

Thanks Jason for getting me hooked!

It took me a little while to get into them, and to work out a control scheme on my hotas that didn't feel awkward, but these days I am loving the tanks!

Small historical correction required in the DD, since we are all such sticklers for accuracy: Churchill tanks sent to the USSR by the UK during WW2, were not "Lend Lease" which was a US program. They were aid, with no expectation of payment. The same applies to Hurricanes and other materials from the UK. The exception was US manufactured planes etc passed to the UK first and then on to the USSR.

Now off to the shop. Nice choice of collector stuff here, and well done for keeping the show on the road.

Looking good, with the StuG I will finally have a Simulated model that I can record my Tutorial Video of the Sturmgeschütz Manual with that I got at the Bundesarchiv in Freiburg, been thinking about doing it with some random 3D Asset StuG before, but this is just more convenient. :)

Bought all three! o7

I am exited to see the Iar-80/81 too.

Now all we need is someone to finish the Odessa map and we would have the perfect area for the plane. ;)

Happy for you! I had a Tempest in my profile picture for a long time out of excitement that it would eventually arrive... and it did. When you get the IAR sometime in 2022... it'll be another VERY GOOD day!

IAR insta buy for me, along with the mighty C-47, and tank crew, not really so interested personally, but will bite at that entry price point just to look.  If nothing else the hi fi map is worth it.  Donkey Shine.

Yes, still lots of Mark IVs around, as has already been mentioned.

Also, for those wondering, the NA 75 saw action in the Italian theater from 1943-45.

Which begs the question:  Will the NA 75 be a modification?  Oh, and are we then going to Italy?

I might have missed something, but as we have had an Italian aircraft for a long time now, has an Italian pilot and language pack been produced as well?

Fantastic news - in many respects the sum of my highest hopes for new tank collector content:

My all time favourite Churchill and much-missed German mainstay. Plus the that IAR cutie :yahoo:

I fear my enthusiasm may have melted the store, as I got an error message when I tried to pay. Chewing on my fists while I wait before trying again.

SORTED :drinks:
