C-130 doing an actual loop

Cheers, Dakpilot

Nice! I love the C-130, it's a classic and much faster than people realize. I was lucky enough to see one do a barrel roll at an airshow at Pope AFB back in the '70s while serving in the 82nd ABN DIV and, of course, I spent a fair amount of time in them as well as exiting them. Awesome post though I don't know what it has to do with the DD......

I believe that it stemmed from a discussion about manoeuvring in the C-47 as a transport plane.

The continued development is what keeps me engaged and coming back since the launch of the original IL2. The modeling work continues to impress with its complexity and fidelity! It inspired me to model Aircraft and AFV systems, but mine are actual functional models that I then make real R/C vehicles out of in various scales up to 1/6. In waiting for more content in tank crew, I started my own line of 1/12 scale R/C AFV's, the first being the 38T "Hetzer". Bit more to go, but the first test vehicle is almost done (running on brushless motor, 2S lipo, and scale steering system using a single motor running through a differential with brake bands on the output shafts for steering as in full scale). 173993500_FinalAssembly20211118_65.jpg.8c84ba5e6b0cf4110c829624e78a208c.jpg

There have been many great simulations, thru the years, that have come and gone. But this one - UbiSoft's IL2 STURMOVIK - is still here, growing and going strong thanks to the many MODDERS, DEVELOPERS and PLAYER FANS (which I'm proud to be one since 2001) who all love this great sim. Thanks to all, and thanks to the GREAT PILOT HEROES who flew the real planes and fought in the real battles (on all sides) and continue to be the Knights of the Air.

Bought the very first "IL-2" in my early thirties, having come up through the ranks of first "Microsoft FS 5.0", Dynamix's "Aces of the Pacific" and then onto Mircroprose and Jane's titles, but "IL-2" blew me away with it's incredible visuals and gameplay. The A.I. wasn't overly great, something that persisted into "Rise of Flight" (an 'IL-2' game in all but name and nature) where the enemy was predictable, aside from the early "sniper rear gunners" but all-in-all there just was nothing like "IL-2" on the market at that time.

Congratulations, guys. Game still isn't perfect (but then what game is?), however "IL-2", the very first game remains the stand-out title and for me and equals "Aces of the Pacific" as ground-breaking and never bested in terms of all-round gameplay.
