Yes I’ve heard that. When DWT went into Beta,as I recall, release wasn’t too far away ( along with a few hot fixes,if I recall,) but what I don’t remember ( or know,) if there is a sort of average time Beta takes to clear a release.I know the response of “it takes what it takes,” and understand that these things can’t be rushed, but would like to know if we might expect it earlier in 2022 or should expect to wait until mid or late 2022.?

I'd go for the latter rather than the former. That way if it comes sooner it's a nice surprise, hard to be disappointed if you're pessimistic ?

Pretty sure you will be safe in expecting it sometime before next Christmas. I mean the next Christmas, as in 2022. That way if it is delivered early you will be exceedingly happy.

I guess temptation to oversell progress becomes overwhelming. Conspicuously absent in the GUI implementation video is a demonstration of track recording. Until that basic function can be performed without removing the VR headset the VR GUI will remain incomplete. Expect repeating cycles of short-lived excitement followed by deflation. Realistically, there are now enough other flight sims available for VR that it really doesn't matter when or whether all the hurdles to Blitz' VR implementation can be overcome.

A complete and utterly useless douchebag.

I have just re-installed & re-set up my Track IR setup because of a new work/desk .This required a new wiring arrangement with hidden wiring diagram & much to-ing & fro-ing with attachments for all the systems that go into the back of the PC…so rest assured VR will be here relatively soon…..sigh….?

Be smart enough and design your installation as evolutive to easily add new equipment later.

I'm itching to play this. I bought it several years ago.  But until it gets VR I won't play.

Hell I don't even play FPS anymore unless it's VR.

It is futile to beg for updates.

The team has ALWAYS made clear that its' commitments are subject to the vagaries of "Covid" and "other" unspecified forces. It appears that the team's commitments are unfunded. Thus, if the team is not being paid for its' efforts then no one is out any money if delivery of the Visual Update Package does not meet any timelines the team might announce. In point of fact there is no way to know on what information their timelines are being established. Anyone who bought Blitz/DW-T on an assumption that the "package" would come soon or that their purchase would hasten completion of the update package simply bought a dream, just as Lotto tickets purchase a dream. The only existing business necessity is that folks continue to buy Blitz 5.0/DW-T. Maybe this is what forum members who tell others to be "patient" are really hoping others will understand. Clearly some just refuse to "get" that subliminal message.

TF members are working as hard as we can within the limitations of the following facts:

1.  We are all doing the work part-time... we started the project as enthusiasts who care about the game, we gave away all our work for free for the first 5 years, even after we got the license from 1C to use the Source Code there was never any realistic expectation we would be able to quit our day jobs because this is a niche product within a niche section of the game marketplace.  We did it because we are Flight Simulation enthusiasts and objectively believe the CLIFFS OF DOVER engine to still have the best potential for development of any game engine out there.

2.  We have a limited number of people on our team... we can't produce at the same pace as a fully funded, fully staffed team.  Most of us put in approx. 10-15 hours a week in our spare time from our real life jobs.

3.  In the past few years we have all been affected by Covid... some have had to deal with sickness either personally or family members, some with loss of work, some with the restrictions the pandemic brings.  This has affected our ability to contribute.

4.  TF is compensated from sales... which means there is an incentive to complete the work, but none of us are getting rich... members on average get enough to perhaps buy themselves a new laptop from the proceeds of multiple years work.

5.  We have bent over backwards to accommodate the community in the past and will do so in the future, a)  offering free upgrades to BLITZ for the original CLIFFS OF DOVER owners who bought the game 10 years ago... despite the fact we had no obligation to do so... we didn't create the issues which the original game had... b) offering free upgrades to VR/Visual Update package when that is released... again to anyone... including those who only own the original game.  If we were intent on gouging the community would we take this approach?  No.  We do this because we like the game, and we want others to like it too.  We have continually refined and improved the game... finding fixes and bugs which were not created by us, but by the original developers.  We have released a huge number of patches as part of this continued work.

All of this has been made clear many times.

Despite that, there are those, who complain about our pace of development, who continuously attack us for not performing like a large well funded company.  Fine, this is the internet, this is gaming... people have bad days, people are anxious about one thing or another... they look for targets to vent on.

In the meantime, TF is continuing to work on the game, we are continuing to refine it.  We have clearly laid out plans which are proceeding well.  Yes, the limits which TF as a team has means the community will have to be patient, but we believe the wait will be worthwhile.

Thanks for everyone's patience.  ?

You said that much more politely then I ever could. Good on you Trooper. The same ones want to come on the Forums here time and again and speak as if they know the situation better than the folks actually working on the TFS Team. Useless dribble is what it is and it contributes nothing.

Keep up the good work TFS and I am awaiting the pleasant surprise of the next update, WHEN IT ARRIVES, be it sooner or later. Quality first!

Perhaps someday in a better, brighter world long after “Covid” has receded into our past Blitz’ full potential will finally be unleashed.

Been in development myself, all my life.

(not gaming, nor sims but doesn't matter).

That is why I, personally, fully understand how difficult all of this can be.

Lucky for me there are always people that are very grateful and those, Afaik, are still the majority of end users.

I, again personally, could not care less about the few that are reluctant to understand the hurdles we face each and every day or worse... those that do but still wish to appear ignorant.

Thank you TFS.

I am still supremely excited for the VR package. I think it will make a terrific flightsim even more relevant today. Keep up the fantastic work Team Fusion!

We do not see any reason to ban or remove people from the forum for expressing impatience or frustration.  We appreciate people like Dagwoodyt have questions.

We will ban or remove people who deliberately post false information or deliberately attempt to create antagonism with personal attacks or language... from either side.

---

Anyway, enough of the issues which really don't have anything to do with why we are here.  ?

---

Happy to mention I do have positive news... we have just today completed some legal negotiations, (not with 1C... our relations with them is all good already ?) with a 3rd party which has cleared an obstruction which has held up us moving forward on the next module.

So that means we will move up the announcement for the new module to be likely end January or first two weeks of February.

Cheers  ?✌️?

Have deleted a number of posts which are really not relevant to the OP.

Warnings have been sent to a number whose attitude and language are not helpful.

Suspensions and/or bans will follow if they repeat their overly negative comments re. others.
