A teeny-weeny ( literally,) in cockpit Mods problem

Recommended Posts

I have photo in “cockpit mod “activated along with pin-up photos in place in Graghics/Planes folders, and yet they aren’t showing up like they used to.Yesterday I activated photo in cockpit option in game option and got the photo in the Typhoon working, but I don’t believe it was the pinup I had placed in the Typhoon folder. Do I have to do this with each plane? Before the Mod activated them all more or less automatically. What must I do- I really miss those babes!

Since this is a mod issue, you need to be asking about this in the Mods subforum.

@Blitzen, if you updated the game since the last time you saw your modded cockpit photos, then the game update overwrote your modded photos with the stock cockpit photos.

This is why most of us who prefer something other than the stock cockpit photos use JSGME (Google that acronym if you don’t know what JSGME is) to add or remove our mods, especially for cockpit photos since each plane has its own texture folder for its cockpit photo.

Using JSGME, when I read a game update has been released, I’ll remove my mods via JSGME before updating the game, then after the game is updated I’ll reenable my mods via JSGME. In this way I never lose my mods (unless, of course, a mod itself is “broken” because of an update to the game, but that is rare).

I did give that option some thought....??

( Please move ithis post to Mods- I don't wish to duplicate the post if at all possible.)

Have used JSGME  for years & yes , indeed that's where 'Cockpit Photos " reside. My problem is that when activated in JSGME they no longer appear in game like they used to...I do try to deactivate Mods when updates come along but occasionally I miss the chance.?

If you've downloaded the new Desert war mod, it overwrites some cockpit photos. Could that be your issue? I had to go in the mod files and remove them so they wouldn't interfere with mine.

Also, would you happen to have a link to that pinup mod? yknow.. for bugtesting ;)

I have solved this small problem…at least done a work around. It takes time but works at least for me. I’ve gone to Data/graphics/ planes/textures and delete the custom_photo ( if there is one there - I think these are all default pin-ups that are used when you check them on in game(?)) Then I take one of the third party pin-ups or cheesecake pix transfer it over to the individual planes texture folder & rename it custom_photo.dds. After doing this to as many tanks & vehicles as I desire ,I make sure to copy & save the entire “planes” folder just in case the next update overwrites this folder & once again eliminates my chosen gal-pal photos.

Hope this works for you-Good Luck!

Same for me ....  just a different re wroting , save the original in cockpit photo in the same folder by renaming the DDS original file with a "  .bak "  at the end of the original file name and add the in cockpit pilots note .

None of the updates have ever overwritten my custom in cockpit photos ...

And yes it must me done for each planes ... one by one ...

Link to the thread for ingame cockpit photos here

No mods , no Jsgme for me ... it works as is ! ...  just renaming original file with " .bak" and add the new file in the folder .
