Today’s DD is short and to the point. We have WIP pics of the Arado 234 B-2 cockpit that is being built by Phil and one of our new modelers Vasily. It’s looking good so far! An interesting cockpit for an interesting and ground breaking plane.

I am really looking forward to the Arado (and the new clouds as well, of course). And this DD should put an end to the speculation whether it comes with a Lotfe 7k.

Wonderful! Everything is wonderful! The new AQMB has air-starts near the target (making for fast missions)!

 

The WIP clouds almost make me want to ask for an inter-war glider simulator... D-30 Cirrus, Seeadler, Kupper Ku-4, Fliegermaus, SG-38 vs. MAK-8, KIM-3, MAI-3, Antonov A-1... alas, unlikely to be sufficiently profitable - still something to dream about though! Anyway, your clouds are dreamy.

I've always wanted to fly a real SG 38. There are a few replicas flying about on YouTube.

The Arado is really something - I don’t know how much I’ll use it except to fly in through the Kuban Mountains- with that “bubble” nose & VR it should be quite an immersive ride! Just wondering will it show up in AQMB right away?

The new clouds will be a lot more useful throughout game play…any eta Jason??

Arado cockpit looks amazing, not one I will fly but like the 262 I am glad to have it included, excellent work from the modeller.

 

First time I flew the version in the old game was quite something, the view and the almost Sci-Fi look of the thing was something to behold for a WWII aircraft, now in a modern high fidelity setting it will be even better especially up amongst those new clouds, congratulations to all involved.

 

And to top it all of we have the Ju-52 in 4k, all great stuff.

Nice to get an update on the Arado - looking forward to this as something a bit different.

 

Great skins as usual from Martin - makes me want to fly cargo again.

 

The clouds - fook me, stunning. The day the clouds are released is the day I'll buy BoN. Or the day the Mosquito is released, whichever is first lol.

 

Great work team - really and truly turning dreams into reality.

The reflections that the clouds make on the water, in virtual reality create a super annoying flickering effect, I hope that with the new clouds these problems are not reflected again

in real life there were probably a few at best of some of those planes, at the end of th war, there was nothing but scrap... but there were a zillion B25's and B-26's flying... hint..hint**

My understanding is that at the beginning of the bomb run the Ar-234 pilot would switch on the autopilot. He would then disconnect the control yoke and swing it to the right, to allow him to operate the Lotfe and control the aircraft via the Lotfe bomb-sight (which was connected to the autopilot, similarly to the Norden sight in a B-17).

 

After bomb release, the pilot would then re-connect the yoke, disengage the autopilot and head for home.
