My dropped bombs not exploding

I'm in the middle of a bf-110 campaign and finding that the bombs I've dropped on hangers ,ships etc are not doing anything.This is after I've turned on the arming switch pointing the switch to the right horizontal position.Any ideas as to what's going on?

I don't know at the moment, which position arms the bombs, but usually the bombs are already armed in most planes, when you enter the cockpit.
Maybe you accidentally unarmed your bombs when turning the switch. It happened to me too, once or twice. That is why I always check if the bombs
are armed before leaving the airfield by toggling the arming switch. As I said, some planes have the bombs already armed, some not.

Looking at the arming panel behind the control column, on the right: OV and MV is without and with timer. Wagerecht is for dropping them horizontally and Sturz is for dropping them in a dive.

this affects the timer. With the wrong setting the bombs may not arm when dropped. 
 

And on the left you have what bombs will drop and their respective lights and selectors.

Since your bombs are dropping, I suspect it is the arming config that isn‘t right. 

So, right horizontal is level flight with delay. Make sure you drop them with enough altitude to arm. 
 

Edit: don‘t have the arming delays at hand, sorry. And from what I can remember in CloD the bombs always need to be armed and selected in German planes. Can‘t remember how it is with BoS.

Its in CloD that I seem to be having problems bombing at low level with the bf-110...apparently they are not arming. I believe that the bombs do explode while using the Ju-87 however.

I suspected it was CloD because of the forum section. Try selecting OV Sturz (Left horizontal ->wrong; it should be lower left, but this isn’t modelled) and see if they explode by dropping them the way you were doing.

So far as I can tell the switch is only available straight up or turned to the right.

Just tested this with both the C-7 and the C-4b/ Trop. The arming timer doesn‘t seem to change with the short delay on/off selection (the animation is weird, it shows no delay right and delay left).

 

So you are doing it right. It‘s apparently the timer that‘s only the long option (11 s afaik).

 

Dropped some bombs from higher altitude and it worked fine (some 20s fall time). Dive attacks on tank columns never worked. 

 

@Buzzsaw Blitzen has possibly found s bug.

Gee I've played/flown this sim since day one & this is the first time I might have found a bug! Uh is this a good thing??

This is a bug, there are posts about this. I do not know if TFS is aware of this.

Well ,  all I can say at this point is that the UXB crew will be very busy after what I have dropped on Jolly Old England!

That manual - Pilots notes - Special Edition;  is a joke, instead explain, just suggest disable the option - and not only for bombs fuses. :rolleyes:

The planes fuses are only set at the fuses selection screen or in mission builder.
The fusing switches of the bombing dashboard (zero delay [ohne verzögerung o.v.] short delay or dive and level bombing) of german Fighter-Bombers and stukas is only of cosmetic function, the only exception being to arm the fuses and the selection of single drop or drop all (belly drop and wing drops for stuka).


In multiplayer you would select fuses before you create your plane and these fuses will stick to that particular plane(-subvariant) until you rejoin the server (same for belt selection), the issue might be yet that you can't change fuses on the fly unless you restart mission (SP) or rejoin the server (MP).  However theres the "short delay" keybind that is useable on the BR.20 mechanical impact fuses which seems to work on the fly for low level bombing.
