I can only say what you can do with Steam version. Uninstall the mod(s) and then do an integrity check in Steam for Il-2. After this you can re-install the mod(s). Youtch Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Instead of using Il2 launcher, use always IL2.exe. It will not auto-update when you start the game. When you read about a new update, you remove your mods and then start the launcher to dowload and update the new version. This is the way i am now doing it, to avoid interferences with mods.

Boelcke Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 Perhaps it´s possible to split the files into two packs, one with the mods and a second with the skinpack? As long as you don´t update the skins it would be a much quicker download for the mods. 1

Get an error thrown at startup "Failed to open texture 'GRAPHICS\TEXTURES\EFFECTS\BLOOD.dds', but it let's you click through it and otherwise mod seems to be functioning fine in my quick testing with quick mission and campaign. I will update this if I run into any game breakers but so far so good. 2

No more messages now but the smoke, especially thicker, looks a bit like a series of squares or blocks. Which smoke sections should I delete if not all? Thank you for the work.

It's been awhile so I don't remember which two I deleted.

Stonehouse Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 (edited) Not trying to rain on anyone's parade and more just an fyi - this mod pack hasn't been updated since Jan 2022, so nearly 12 months. In that time, for an example, I've released 6 updates to the AAA mod and at least 4 of them were to resync the mod with changes to the game files. These are not present in this mod pack. None of the places I resync'd generated error pop ups but would have impacted things behind the scenes. Historically Accurate Skins has had quite a few revamps since Jan as another example. There have been some pretty major game patches released since this mod was last updated so you should be aware that you won't always see a warning of an error or different function for every point of incompatibility with the current version of the game. It will be that something just works differently or will be turned off because there is a missing parameter in a mod file somewhere. Only my honest 2cents worth - you'd be better off hunting down the up to date version of each mod listed in the pack if there is one and using that and where there wasn't an up to date version just discard that mod. Ok I thought they were listed in the first post of the thread. Maybe that was the very original list, and it didn't get updated as much as the pack. I have V5 of WW2 pack. No not mine, JSOFlyer looks after the WW2 mod pack. My current supported mods are AAA mod, AI Gunnery, Dynamic Effects and Units, and Wingtip vortices

The ww2 modpack always throws me a d3dx.ini fail to open error message, uninstall the pack and it is gone. Updating Nvidia doesn't solve it. Dynamic effects sounds interesting, thanks for replying.

Would anybody like to help test/develop the pack with me? @Mtnbiker1998 @Stonehouse Also, the original reason for this pack was to fix the (at the time) broken DM, nav lights, etc. Going forward, I think the purpose will be to increase functionality and overall fidelity with an emphasis on graphics and immersion enhancing features meaning this pack will be lighter. 1

I'm still not a big fan of a merged pack personally as I think it lacks flexibility when there are issues, or when you want a slightly different flavour of mods. Other than it being a single download I don't see a big advantage really over individually loading mods in jsgme or equivalent. I think creating a jsgme MEP file or similar delivers the same result and keeps the flexibility. I do understand some people prefer the single download. That said, I'm happy to offer what support I can. I think the only complexity for you is when two mods change the same file. Then if it is something like a text or lua file you might be able to incorporate both mod's changes into the file, essentially ending up with a custom version of each mod. If that isn't possible or the common file is something like a texture, you'll have to choose which mod wins. This may mean you have to leave a mod out of your pack if that mod requires a certain value or file being a certain way to work.

Shouldn't they lit up the sorroundings more strongly? While approaching the runway at night, the ground gets briefly lit as the flare rises in the sky, but when it's high up the ground is just as dark as before - so it's basically useless, outside of being an isolated bright point. On QMB the moment I started shooting a target EVERYTHING froze and the plane continued its trajectory while shooting then crashed and the game froze. Then this error popped up again. I'm using JSGME and installed it correctly I assume because i can hear the radio chatter mod. Any ideas? Is this mod broken?

This mod has many more mods though in addition and is applicable to FC and GB. 1
