nonetpochylski Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Hello, Had to (chose to?) do a complete re-install of TC today and now I get a shimmering vertical set of lines in the middle of my screen for all tanks and for all positions (driver, gunner, commander) - see attached screenshot. Makes aiming REALLY difficult ?. Has anybody else experienced this and, if so, what solution worked for you? As always, thanks in advance for any assistance. Tom P.
moustache Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 @nonetpochylski, you should post this in the bug section, you might get more answer ... personally i never got this. sorry
40plus Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I also have never seen that. As Moustache suggested, It would be useful to post your system information including graphics drivers version into the bugs and technical issues section.
nonetpochylski Posted August 28, 2021 Author Posted August 28, 2021 Original poster here - it's all way over my head. Not a gamer and not technically proficient. CAP is the ONLY game on my laptop and was able to play it since purchase (Dec19). However, the jargon regarding graphics is all foreign to me. Sent this issue to the "help desk" and they in return asked for a series of reports and one screenshot. Was able to produce 2 (of 3) requested reports and the screenshot but no response since. Was hoping that somebody else experienced this and had the solution. Most perplexing that this phenomenon occurs in all first person views but goes away for external views. Bug list (at least what I saw) seems huge and mainly for the airplanes and I'm not at all sure that I've found a bug...
nonetpochylski Posted August 30, 2021 Author Posted August 30, 2021 To follow up on this - response from IL-2 Support said current video card didn't quite meet minimum specs. But - was actually able to "solve" the problem by slightly reducing the screen size. About time to shop for a gaming laptop...
Na-zdorovie Posted August 31, 2021 Posted August 31, 2021 there is also a setting........in settings that stops ground shimmer, it sounds like its just that, give it a try, cant get to game ATM, but its easy to find, just a checkbox
MajorMagee Posted August 31, 2021 Posted August 31, 2021 I'd love it if there actually was a setting that stops ground shimmer, but I've never found one.
Na-zdorovie Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 there is like i said, settings, graphics, Landscape Filter
MajorMagee Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 Already using that, and I still have significant aliasing shimmer on my system.
Na-zdorovie Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 ah my apologies i was answering at first from my phone and couldnt see the image properly in first post, too me this isnt shimmering but more like a graphic issue, as usual i would check drivers on your card, but sometimes i found going back a few revisions helped more for some issues like this
