No need to reinstall - the folder where the .exe file is located got inadvertently moved. I had the same thing happen to me recently. You just need to move it back to where it was. 

 

@-DED-Rapidus, you might want to see if others have had this issue.

Thanks Luke.  

I uninstalled and have had several unsuccessful re-install attempts.  I get the 'Failed to Update' message now.  Too bad, it takes 20 minutes to go through the whole check cache files deal and unpack but just when it's ready to finish the 'Extracting Packed Files' part of the installation I get the 'Failed To Update' note and it dies.

I'll wait till tomorrow and try again.

Success!  Launcher knew what to do this time and installed program.  I didn't do anything different.
I now have a Il-2 recovery folder with il2.exe, input, sceenie of graphics setup, startup files and folders etc.
