Modifiers?

I hope it's a simple fix but I can't assign for ex. Rt-Alt as a modifier to use with my POV directional toggles on my Joysticks. It doesn't work. I do it all the time in BoS and DCS. I've even tried using joy to key and it doesn't play well with CoD.

Clod has no differentiation between left and right modifiers. They both are identified the same - so it does mean you need to be extra cautious whan using additional programs ie trackir or teamspeak cos you can get very unexpected clashes (yes I am talking from experience here).

POV directionals on either joystick or throttle show no modifiers at all no matter what I press first or second. Even JoytoKey is not recognized for modifiers by CoD. Getting frustrated and close to making this my eye candy sim and just focusing on BoS and DCS for my real sims.

cant speak for joytokey cos dont use it. But my POVs use modifiers fine.

I would also say under the FAQ in this part of forum is a youtube guide by karaya to setting up j/s. I havent watched it simply because I had no problems on my saitek but it may help you. There is also a guide to setting it up and a game utility in the main game directory joystickwiz.exe if I remember the name correctly which may help you also.

Its worth sticking with it (especially compared to dcs ww2 in my view).

In CloD you can use any joystick button or key as modifier for others joysticks button or key, just need press the button together other button or HAT or key in Controls GUI. 

 

Downside:  you can use this modifier just one time per category, but can use the same modifier for other category (of controls), this probable prevents use modifier for HAT directions, as all are in the same category.

 

I have no issue in use JoyToKey keypress in CloD, have in IL-2:GB due timing.

I figured it out that a modifier works for just about any command except the POVs on either the joystick or throttle. For some odd reason it just won't take on the POVs.

In the Controls/Settings page what are the default commands for these functions, if there is any?  What ever they are use those, and Joytokey will let you choose R/L Sht, Ctl, Alt.  and Win L/R, and just plain old Shft, Alt, Ctl.  You said it was a POV button, some software programs will let you make it a four way or eight way hat.  Let us know what you figure out.............  I don't play CloD, or the desert add on.  I have the original game on disc but Steam won't let me load, update and play it.  So screw Steam...

Once the original has been added to Steam, Blitz should become available. Use Blitz and forget the original one.

I have talked to Steam's people and they have explained the hoops I must travel to get full access of the game I bought and paid for...

But the Blitz version is completely free for those who already have the old Cliffs, mate...And you have a lot of improvements and  a flyable Beaufighter with the update.

Yes, I'm just not all fired up to mess with it now, got some things on my plate post retirement I need to do.  Getting Blitz/Desert versions working would just have me messin and fartin around with settings, key bindings, then I'm on the forums over there causin hate and discontent.....................  Wait; Damn, I'm missin out... I'll let y'all know if I get it sorted or not.

There is a full Guide to getting started with BLITZ and TOBRUK which takes you step by step through the process.

 

The original game requires STEAM to run too... there is no difference between the STEAM  requirements for CLIFFS and BLITZ/TOBRUK.

@greywulfDid you find a workaround for this? I am also trying to use modifiers on POV buttons but it doesn't seem to work in CLoD.
