Yup update will be coming in the next few days. It wouldve been out already but they happened to release it right when I was in the middle of reworking all of the skins.

 

Edit: While they have released the 4k skins they have not yet released the 4k template. So until then no Ju52, but I am finishing up an update to all skins that corrects weathering/alpha channel mistakes I made.

Many thanks for this, the skins look stunning! excellent effort by all involved.

 

I did notice a couple of issues though. I'm new to IL-2 which I only got a week or so ago when on sale on Steam. I figured out where to install the skins thanks to the logical file system, but when it comes to the files in the swf/il2/worldobjects/planes folder, i didn't have a world objects folder in my install already? I just added the folders and all seems well in menu, the previews are there as are the actual skins and they load fine. The problem started in game.

 

During an advanced quick mission (or whatever they're called) the aircraft icons on the map were missing, I was also unable to use any of the function keys ) F1, F2 etc could this be related to the missing worldobjects folder and perhaps also because I'm using steam? Should i have installed the worldobjects in a different location? I just added all the folders into the normal directory F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data

 

If anyone has any ideas I'd be most grateful. Thanks again for the skins, quality addition to the sim.

Hello.

Your described Problem has nothing to do with this mod here. The provided mod Files don´t work on the icons or something similar. try the repair function in Steam options. Have you installed any other Mods maybe the Bug comes from there?

HI,

no, this is the only mod I've installed. Thanks for the repair tip, just tried it. A couple of files were corrupt  and when I tried it out somethings returned but i still have no function keys working, outside of flight leader orders ... wonder if I've somehow restricted exterior views while messing in the menus?? i'll continue to check.

if you want all skins you have to download both AIO packs.

• some folders/files dont appear in file explorer because they are packed into encrypted '.gtp' files which cant be edited, mods on mode allows files placed in the games directory (with correct folder structuring) to take precedence
• aircraft icons are located in 'data/swf/cache' which this pack does not touch
• i too use steam so that is not the issue
• install instructions: merge data folder from skin packs with data folder in il2 root directory

Hi milktoast, loving the mod!

 

seems some base game files keep getting corrupted somehow, I'm having to check files regularly with steam and it's downloading 2 files (20kb total) each time and everything then seems to work ok. I'll try re-installing maybe, but it's a new install (only a couple weeks old) and i really haven't done anything apart from add your mod. I figured out the lack of function keys that was all me unticking the allow spectators in the realism settings. As expected your mod is working as intended it just seems funny how the same two files keep being corrupted (which messes up my controls and map) in 20 odd years of using mods this is the honestly the first time I've seen behaviour like this, maybe I've just been lucky ?

I did notice another skin that slipped under the radar. Skin 04 for the Yak-1b (Morozov) has a censored hakenkreuz in the starboard fuselage artwork.

 

Skin 14 on the P-51B too I think. It looks like there's 5 tiny kill markings on the port side below the cockpit canopy.

The All in One pack covers the main German skins (to add the swastika). It includes the main Ju-52 skin.

The Extras pack updates official custom skins that have swastikas. I think the additional Ju-52 skins are included.

The P-51B pack updates the official custom P-51B skins and a few other aircraft that have swastika score boards. Install them in addition to the other packs if this is important to you.

You can install all of the packs.

I just tested all the default F-2 skins in this mod and they work fine.  Did you install them correctly AND did you select MODS ON from the launcher?

Of course. I dont have this problem with all other German planes...

Maybe try re-installing just the folders for the F-2?  I can't think of why those wouldn't work.

I had been using a mishmash of other skins that I had collected all over the place and got hard to manage.

To have everything in one file to install/manage is a HUGE time saver and removed all my frustrations.

Does it apply the digi number to the fuselage ?  I think it also a part of 'historical accurate' . The AI dsn't have that.
