Me and a mate broke a record. 3 takeoff and 3 landings

2 divebomb attack with PE2

And one IL 2 ground attack with multiple 109 attack

In a packed Finnish server.

I just wanted to mention it. One Evening and no death in attack planes. Is worth mentioning

Yeah that's a hell of an accomplishment. Even surviving one attack run on a packed server is pretty good.

I do not claim realism in DM, nor accuracy in it. Because I simply have not the competence

But often in this game, in cod also for that matter. The complete picture , result often show historical result.

I was rattled with hits mostly on my right wing. And due to initial inaccurate firering from the 109's attacking I was able to maneuver and make aiming harder. And this attracted friendly fighters for a fiesta.

I felt for once that I sat in a flying tank and it brought me home.

If the first cannonshells had hit me I would not be that lucky

Yes. But have you tried @BlackSixscripted campaigns for IL 2. Hard enough but survivable. I fly them over and over. Very good campaigns

I just started flying the IL-2 a couple of days ago (I know, I know...), and I've already had to submit bug reports after starting the mission crashed into a mountain side with half my flight.

I'll check out the scripted campaigns at some point, but currently my focus is improving the SP dynamic campaign experience.

Download PWCG...it is much more dynamic than the career mode. Also check out Lullaby for a Dream and From England with love...I find both better than any paid campaigns. Also play on expert and in iron man mode.

The 15mm cannons barely scratch an IL-2 LOL. I've tried to take them down, but it is nearly impossible.

I haven't used PWCG up to this point, but from what I've seen, it can provide a more varied career experience.  Unfortunately, not an historically accurate one.  When I get around to flying the WW1 birds again, it will take priority (As there is no dynamic career mode for FC1).  Until then, as I said, my aim is to help the devs improve the SP careers in GB through regular bug reports, and enjoy the SP dynamic campaign as it is.

Funny. I have 10 years experience flying IL 2 in this game.

From that perspective I find it easy to bring me down

Perhaps you are flying against the F-2 with the 20mm mod? Last night on Finnish it was disabled I believe. I flew back in my Hurricane with two IL-2s in the wee hours after strafing tanks with no opposition near the German port city. That wasn't you in the IL-2 was it? I had the Operation Benedict skin.

Might have been I was streaming stuff back home. We did see friendly airplanes there but I was busy

Congratulations, and well done!
It takes big ones to even take off in a bomber online, let alone to survive it once and go up again.

Well I have changed tactics. In order to make it online as a ground pounder one have to think of success quite different.

I do my best to hit targets on one pass. If I levelbomb I return or find another target if fuel allowe if I miscalculated navigation

I never stay in the area after one pass.

It bring less hits on targets, but increase survival. And one get a feel of realism.

Those bomberboys, no matter what nation. Wanted to get home again.

What killed my motivation to fly earlier on, was the feeling of boosting kill rate to opurtunist fighterpilots. Sooner or later virtual death gets to you

That was probably me and my buddy in those IL-2s last night, and it was reassuring to see a friendly fighter since the German temp field was just around the corner as we strafed

I vulched that field all night to give the Germans a taste of their own medicine!

Quite so, I'm a ground pounder by heart myself and my hat goes off to anyone brave or stupid enough to fly level and slow in the biggest most juicy targets the game has to offer. It's always that 'last pass' that gets you bounced. Can't wait to get back in a Stuka once my vacation is over.

no it doesn't, it's a computer game.

big ones belong to those who did it for real.

Is the latest one good? I hate the plane due to cockpit bad visibility, but maybe in VR it will be good. Loved all the other ones. Still did not finish the previous IL2 campaign.
