The most highly decorated pilot of the Second World War, Rudel flew 2530 missions and was the first pilot ever to sink a battleship - the Russian vessel Marat on September 23, 1941. He also sank two cruisers and destroyed 532 tanks. He was shot down 30 times and wounded five times, including losing his right leg although he continued to fly even though his wound still was open and far from healed. Politics aside, his story is simply incredible and well worth a read.

I based the skin on this model.

The screenshots are dramatic beyond belief.  In the bottom one, the tension between the realistic desaturation of most of the skin's colors and the rich saturation of the environment's tones is resolved by the harmony of the blues.  Incredible work.

Wow! I hope im not replying to the thread to late but i just found this, you have made my day!

As a fan of Rudel i am awestruck at the quality and level of detail of this.

Can i ask a question can you create another skin that Rudel used the one with the forward arrow like this? (minus the numbers on the rear fin)

After looking through many more profiles, models and artist impressions for this aircraft I made another version.

That looks fantastic!

That color really blends in with the terrain, beautiful work!

Allegedly

Rudel was born on July 2, 1916, when he was 20 he gained admission into the Wildpark-Werder Military School in 1936.

Rudel’s talents in a Stuka were given a chance after Germany attacked the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941.

Prior to 1941 he was taking photos and training new pilots.

So he was about 25 when he started flying combat sorties in a Stuka.

In September 1942 Rudel completed his 500th operational flight reaching his 600th in November.

This is where he started flying the Ju87 G variant:

On February 10, 1943, Rudel completed his 1,001st operational flight. Promoted to flight lieutenant, Rudel was sent on holiday leave.

After captaining the Luftwaffe team in a ski tournament in Austria, a recharged Rudel went on to test the new twin 3.7cm cannon-armed Ju-87 Gustav Stukas.

Even slower and less maneuverable than the bomb-carrying Ju-87, the Gustav nevertheless became an excellent tank buster.

Resuming command of 1st Staffel, Rudel integrated the cannon Stukas in the fighting for the Kuban bridgehead. Within a few days

Rudel himself destroyed 70 of the small Soviet boats trying to cross the lagoons. His efforts earned Rudel the

rank of Hauptmann on April 1 and the Oak Leaves on April 14.

In July 1943 the Stukas unleashed a storm of destruction at the Battle of Kursk. Swooping in at 15 to 30 feet above the ground,

Rudel’s cannons blasted tungsten-core shells through the thin back armor of enemy tanks.

A successful hit entailed flying through an exploding curtain of fire, scorching Rudel’s Stuka and riddling it with splinters.

By the end of the first day’s attack, Rudel’s Gustav had destroyed 12 tanks. Other Doras bombarded the deadly Soviet antiaircraft guns

or circled to protect against fighters. Despite inflicting heavy casualties on the Soviets, the Germans gained little ground.

Actually there was still fighting still going on up into 1947 possibly 1950, there was a force called the SS Werewolf,

theres a book i read titled

Quote

The Last Nazis: SS Werewolf Guerrilla Resistance in Europe, 1944–1947 (2000)

Biddiscombe asserts that after retreating to the Black Forest and the Harz mountains, the Werewolf

continued resisting the occupation until at least 1947, possibly until 1949–50.

This force would sabotage, destroy railroad tracks, ambushes, and many other things against the allies.

Also a documentary on the SS Werewolves Nazi Guerrillas: Operation Werwolf 1945

Other then them ya most of it was over for most of them.
