AI ground pounding effectiveness

Never saw so far (more than 65 hours of game) AI hitting anything with bombs on ground. It's me or a known bug?

It's been a while since I played, but when I last spent any real time it tended to be laser guided precision or nothing. 

 

Although I remember a thread on here a while back complaining about bomb timers so it maybe related.
