Modified OpenVR DLL with AMD FidelityFX SuperResolution Upscaler

I did. The first release was not working with Il-2, but the devs released yesterday a testing version that would ok with il-2.

I have tested both with DCS and Il-2 and I get a performance boost off around 20% with the default 0.75 scaling setting.

And I can't really tell the difference in the visuals with the mod enabled.

Works with Nvidia 2000 and 3000 series.

Very simple to install (just copying two files) and to rollback to original config if needed.

Highly recommended to give it a try.

Well, I guess it depends to on the VR headset you are using and the Steam resolution.

I am using reverb G2 with the "recommended by default" 150% of Steam SS resolution and with the .75 everything looks ok to me.

I use Quest2 on 1.0 resolution (4128x2096) with 100% in Steam. As i understand the higher resolution, the less noticeable quality loss you'll get.

You can apparently also use it to increase fidelity for only a minimal performance loss.

If you set a value higher than 1 for renderScale, then the game will render at the native resolution, i.e. the one configured in SteamVR. But FSR will then take this render and upscale it to a resolution multiplied by the value of renderScale in each dimension. For example, if the resolution in SteamVR is 2242x2492 and you have configured a value of 1.3 for renderScale, then the game will render at 2242x2492, but the image will be upscaled by FSR to 2915x3240.

Have you guys tried this out?

Also @Jason_Williams, since such a custom VR solution has materialised pretty quickly,

have you guys considered implement this into IL2 natively?
