nice one here's a reply for you

it's my cover ?

BTW it's quite odd to see so many folks over here knows about oasis and palys the guitar given that this game is quite oppposite to oasis'ish vibe

ww2 (especially stalingrad) with oasis hmmm

it's like having both of the end where one side is grim and negative while the other side is extremely positive and hopeful

very interesting

sometimes i found myself quite odd to have a interest in both LOL

I'm listening to Ellende right now. Its name literally translates to "misery" in Dutch, and I think it's also got that connotation in Austrian German, where this band is from. Anyhow, IL2 is definitely the happy, bright and hopeful of the two. *Definitely*.

(I assume you did all guitars? You're obviously an able guitar player :))

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

So as @AEthelraedUnraed noted, your a pretty decent guitarist and I'd agree with that. However I'm not surprised that people like this and that or whatever really...I think you will find lots of people into similar stuff to you around here.

I remember when Oasis was new and exploding on the UK music scene, wish I'd taken the time to go see them live looking back. I would have been more into Hendrix, SRV, Zeppelin and other stuff from an earlier era, but now I have had 2020 vision and lets say there was a time machine leaving the quay heading for the early 1990's, I'd fight my way onto it :)

===============

Little rhetorical question for you...

Was the Telecaster any better than the Les Paul? or the Hofner viola bass any better than a fret less Gibson EB?

thx first and i'm super surprised to see there were half of the palyers in finnish server playing guitar or bass in their hobby time

and they all love SRV and blues in general

some said the other gallagher is better(rory gallagher) hahahaha

yeah i'm so gald that i've seen them live in 2009 (right before they split up)

it depends on your personal taste and how the tone fits to the song

telecaster can be used for every genre  if the one knows how to use it

hofner is really good for making vintage bass tone

i'm glad i can answer you

and also in these days recording guitar is so easy

all you need is guitar with audio interface and amp simulation

you can crank the marshall stack in your home inside the headphone

and the technology got so better it's almost indistinguisable from micing the real amplifier

haha i love this commmunity ?

have a nice day

Many are surprised to find out that despite generally playing the LesPaul, Jimmy Page recorded the solo of Stairway to Heaven with a ‘59 Telecaster Jeff Beck gifted him with.

Me, I’m a horrible player, but I like building them. ;)

The smaller one with the Star Wars themed finish is a 7/8 scale small guitar I built for my then 11 year old.

Thanks. Yes, as a hobby I build them in my spare time, which I didn’t have the last year or so.

The telecaster is ash body with a one piece maple neck. Since quality swamp ash is getting harder to get, it’s regular ash and gives a LesPaul a run for its money in the weight department, LOL.

The JS shaped one is genuine mahogany body with a bird’s eye maple neck and wenge fretboard. They all have 10”-14” (250 mm - 360mm) compound radius.

the “in process” builds are African mahogany with a flame maple top on the tele (which is chambered and will have a single &-hole once paisley fabric goes on), and the multi-scale (fan fret) bass is alder body with a maple cap.

im a child of the 80ies as you can tell by the pointy head stocks and double locking tremolo :)

Something interesting I read in the Telecaster vs Les Paul debate was the story of how the Les Paul came to be in the first place. Les was a tinkerer and had built a solid guitar from a block of wood and other guitar parts that he called the log. He actually took it to Gibson and they told him to f$#k off. Fender had been making what was the Telecaster for two or three years already. Fender sent Les Paul a Telecaster to try out in hopes he would become an endorser. Instead he called up Gibson and told him what he had and that if they didn't pull their finger out, Fender was going to monopolize the solid body electric market. He apparently liked the Fender but thought it was too plain for a player of his status. He wanted Gibson to make him something really fancy and top shelf.

My 82 tele. She's a dream. Thinking of upgrading the single coil atm.

(There's a 69 Rhodes under the cover in case you were wondering. My neighbour LOVES me.)

Yeah you can get some really nice early chilli peppers tones with no effort. I imagine I veer between Frusciante and Johnny Greenwood and then the nice nurse tells me it's time for my pills again... :P

My first guitar was a cheap Peavey Telecaster copy, but it was quite nice for its price.

IMG_5063.thumb.JPG.65bf061ec9dd784f87222d61a9453c3b.JPG

When I started earning money I decided to buy a better guitar. My roommate at the time had a nice little guitar collection, amongst which a gorgeous Les Paul that we would play through a Marshall JMC 900 100W head through a Marshall 4x12... in an appartment... those were the days! ^^

When he told me he wanted to sell some of his guitars I hoped I could maybe get the Les Paul, but of course that was the one he would NEVER sell. He also had a Stratocaster he told me he wanted to sell, I wasn't too keen on Strats, but I decided to give it a try. It was love at firs sight touch and hearing. Smoothest and most comfortable neck I ever played. After 5 mons playing I knew I would buy it. It has become now my favourite guitar, the one I will NEVER sell. It's quite a particular model, a Stratocaster Ultra, made in the late 80's to late 90's along the Plus and Plus Deluxe. It's not the classic Strat, but it's so versatile that I wouldn't need any other guitar...but that's not how guitarist work anyway. I like it so much that I spent years looking for a Strat Plus at a decent price, and eventually found one five years ago. So as a primarily non-Strat guy I ended up having two ?

it's a bit of generaliztion

but most of the guitarist eventually ends up with strat or tele

wherever they started form

the one they end up with after playing 10 more years are mostly strat or tele

and there's a reason why hahaha

you just took the high way pass

good for you

it also apllies to the amp

fender amp that's where most of the players end their journey

so you just skip all the huddles and trials right away hahaha

The tele all the way. You can't beat perfection. Simple, elegant and versatile. And sexy as hell. I have a poor boy's cheap copy. But she speaks to me like no woman could.
